I had a meal with two colleagues here on a cold winters night and it was just what you expect from heartland NZ - large meals done well and good solid comfort food. I had the pork belly which fell apart, one colleague had the lamb which she couldn't finish (too big) but which also fell off the bone, and my second colleague had the rib eye, which he raved about. My advice, bring an appetite and wash it down with a good Otago ale of Pinot Noir. And the service was really good. The locals eat here (it was packed on a Thursday night). Well recommended.
