I stayed here for 2 nights in December with a couple of friends. We unfortunately paid for 2 nights upfront, and even then we were tempted to leave after one night.
The cleanliness of the place was abysmal, and the toilets looked like they hadn't been scrubbed in weeks.
There were long term residents in the hostel as well as full families living there. These families took over the TV area and were quite intimidating in general because it seemed they had there own little dynamic that they did not want disrupted.
The long term residents would drink cask wine and smoke weed and the whole place would reek of weed.
The owner was this older gentleman who you could regularly hear screaming and yelling at residents and guests about anything and everything... it was quite scary.
The guy that checked us in, Paul, was actually quite nice and welcoming. However, the reception desk was always locked up and no one there to attend to guests needs. Not once in the 2 days we stayed there was there anyone there...
The 14 bed dorm we stayed in had only 2 single powerpoints, and the top bunk beds had no railings. The pillows were so old, and had turned brown. It was quite disgusting.
This place may be cheap, but id much rather pay an extra 5 bucks and stay somewhere decent. I am not fussy at all when it comes to hostels, but this place was quite shocking. I am surprised they are still open.
