First things first, the Bug is easy to find. There's a strip of accommodation along the road, the bug is the one with the yellow-y fence and VW beetle in the driveway.

We choose the Bug due it's positive reviews on Trip Advisor, and boy we weren't disappointed! At $90/night we got a studio room - sure the bed and kitchen were all in the same room but it was a converted villa scenario so there was plenty of space.

The bathroom was huge, consisting of a bath, shower, toilet & tub (where the laundry must have been, very handy for rinsing togs).

Nice touch with a wooden bench outside to have tea, grapes lined the walkways outside the room which was found after walking through a bit of a rabbit warren of paths.

The kitchen was well appointed with all that we needed to cook meals, oil was provided which was a nice touch. There was a couch oddly placed opposite the tv - it looked a little out of place was deceptively comfortable!

We hired a car, parking was a little troublesome and we noticed lots of people blocking others in (particular around meal times). The first night we parked on the road as we were back late, but from then on it wasn't too much of a problem as we were home early.

If you stay in the studio, make sure to turn on the switch in the pantry to get the power point where the fridge should be to run. Also beside the kettle is the switch to get the microwave on (this would have been good to know when we arrived).

This property is well worth every cent, in my mind much better value and comfort than any hotel in the area.

Room Tip: Spend a lil extra and go for a studio!

This is a very good backpacker.
Even when, if you don't have a car, the location is not totally good, because is quite far away from the town centre just by walking.
Anyway...very nice manager, very clean and comfortable double bedroom.
Cozy kitchen and very tasty free bread for breakfast every morning.
You also have wifi for free, and a nice backyard with barbecue and tables that you can enjoy on summertime.
We stayed there in low season (winter), so we could get a very good weekly price for the very nice double bedroom.

We've stayed twice, last year and this. Each time in a double room and on both occasions have been very impressed. Clean, friendly, sociable and big bedrooms ( especially snow bug room!) the only drawback is that it's slightly out of town meaning a cab is the best way to town but this means it's relaxed and has a great garden. Thank you!

Stayed at the Bug for two nights and we were impressed with it. The place was very clean and the staff were helpful. We stayed in the shared room and were glad we did as some of the dorm rooms looked a little squashy. We appreciated the individual plugs and lights for each bed.

The bathrooms were great and we never had any issues trying to get in seeing that it was a little busy. We stayed in one of the smaller houses and the only problem we had was the kitchen is a little small and people come and borrow cooking pans etc and at times you had to go and find one another kitchen.

There is also no lounge in some of the smaller houses and so if you want to chill out you need to go to the main house.
Was great that you could hang your clothes out on the line but with only one washing machine you may have to wait.

The hostel is a little way out of town but it is very walkable and the off street parking was much appreciated. I would stay here again and if you are looking for a little more space go for the shared room.

Room Tip: Go for a share room. Only a few dollars more but we had tonnes more space.

The hostel is a lovely place, feels a bit like beeing at home. I enjoyed it a lot staying there! The owner is very friendly and helpful! They served fresh handmade bread every morning and pick you up from the bus station if needed.
