623 is an up and coming chain of the Bar/Pokie/Band/Restaurant variety. Not sure what they are trying to be! At 623 on the Rocks we ordered "623’s Famous Taste of Tahuna Platter" for 50 bucks! What a rip off! Dined at 623 in the City and never again! Couldn't understand why our pizza tasted "fizzy" until I checked underneath - it was mouldy! Stick to your pokies!

The Thai Green Curry was fantastic. My husband had the lamb pizza and loved it. Our only complaints were a group of 3 people at the table next to us were incredibly loud and were coughing/sneezing like crazy, and there was cigarette smoke coming in the windows by the outdoor section.

Has the feel of a chain type restaurant. We saw lots of these in the Uk, all with standardised menus etc. Burgers, chips, fish, you know the score. Food is ok.
Prices ok, service fine, lively place, nice surroundings, Dont know why Beer is so damned expensive these days though ! $9 for a decent beer...
Definitely go there if you dont want anything overcomplicated or stuffy.

We only stopped for Coffee, but when ordering, there are no table numbers, hence- staff wandering around with coffees looking for owners, time they find them...cold coffee.
Also the music was too loud and obviously someones unwanted 70's pop compilation from christmas, rubbish!

Great food, but do they have to have the music so loud? I suppose its orientated towards the youth market, and there were plenty of them in evidence there, but us older people do like to be able to have a chat over dinner, not to have to shout at each other (I get plenty of that anyway!!!) You eat in the actual bar area - there is little separation of diners and drinkers. I have no note of what we paid, but it was very reasonable.
