We visited Broadgreen at the Easter Quilt Show and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The house is stuffed full of interesting furniture and details, all dating from the period though not necessarily original to the house. Plus the period quilts, linens and lacework was exquisite.
Our own personal guide took us around, pointing out various objects while telling us about each room and the two families who called Broadgreen home. Then we were left to our own devises to wander as we wanted (which I always prefer), plus we walked through the extensive rose gardens to enjoy the late blooms.
Nelson has a good number of historic homes and Broadgreen is possibly one of the more modest historic homes though packed full of interesting detail. Well worth a visit... and their postcards are a very reasonable 50 cents each :)
