First the basics: Their range of coffees is excellent, as is their service, and there is ample and easy parking. We moved here from the San Francisco area some years ago, so are used to a very high standard coming from an area that is filled with coffee snobs and "boutique" cafes. We've been patronizing Zumo's for years now and feel they do a great job with their roasting and their coffees, offering a broad selection for virtually any taste. (I've tried several of their roasts and personally prefer Zumo2 or Zumo3, depending on my mood/taste on the day).
Now the important part: Besides great coffee why else do we keep coming back? They have a very unique space, and have created an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. Zumo's has truly become "the neighbourhood coffee shop" in every sense. Whether I'm looking for a place to have an informal business meeting (you can book their "Bored Room") or the regular Sunday post paddle get-together with our Waka ama friends -- you feel comfortable and right at home. It honestly reminds me a bit of that old TV series "Cheers".
At present their facility isn't yet set up to offer crockery cups (just paper for now) but if this presents a problem you can do like we (and many other regulars) do, and bring a KeepCup (which you can also purchase there and at the same time help Project Jonah).
Highly recommended. Try it -- you won't regret it.
