If you are around nelson, there's no other option than to stay at prince albert backpackers. You will find everything u expect from a hostel and even more. Lovely and active owners, loads of games in the common areas, super tidy and clean the whole hostel in general, one bathroom in each doorm, comfortable beds, warm place to be, lots of movies and series to chill at the tv lounge, FREE WIFI and computers to use! Cheap prices at the bar for the backpackers, guitat, ukelele, friendly people around all the time, and my favourite.. The hamacs. definately a place in nelson not to be missed!

I would like to recommend the Prince Albert Backpackers to everyone who is looking for the best hostel in Nelson, New Zealand. I stayed for three nights and was really impressed by the accommodation and the facilities. The room was tidy and quiet, in the morning they offer a tasty breakfast, they have bikes to explore Nelson and in the courtyard hang hammocks to relax. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. But above all it is the warm atmosphere that welcomes everyone and makes it hard to move on.

This cozy hostel has everything you need to feel just like home: Good facilities (the shower in the 6 bed dorm is amazing!!!!), TV-room with loads of movies, free unlimited wifi, it's clean and tidy and provides a great atmosphere while it's connected to a bar where not only backpackers but also locals enjoy a beer. All in all great hospitality, the owners are super friendly and it was lovely to stay there. Can recommend it as one of the best hostels in NZ!

We originally planned to stay here for one night and ended up staying for 3. I was in the 8 bed dorm with an en suite. The room was clean, the shower amazing.
The facilities of the hostel are fantastic. Free wifi/internet, free breakfast, clean kitchen, great dining room, bikes to get into town, day trips, really comfortable tv lounge, great outdoor sitting. The bar downstairs has an amazing atmosphere and good prices for food and drink alike. The game room was my favourite. We were lucky enough to arrive on the Games Night where we took part in different games with fellow travellers and locals it was a fun filled night with a lot of laughter.

My favourite thing about the hostel wad the owners Mike and Nani, the friendly staff, and the home like feel you got from being there. It was my favourite hostel in New Zealand having travelled there for 5 weeks. I hope in years to come it's still going as I'd love to return :) (Love 'Newcastle'!!!)

The Prince Albert is one of the best Hostels that I have stayed in, in New Zealand! Mike and Nani are two the best people and owners you are likely to meet! The games nights and Quiz along with the locals at the bar make this place the best Back Packers in Nelson, and I have stayed in quite a few of them! The facilities here are top notch, a multi media centre with a wide array of movies and free internet, which is very rare while travelling and if you dont have a laptop and want to skype there are computers with skype installed so you can contact home any time of the day! While travelling the best way to get to know people is over a beer and as the Prince Albert is a great bar that alot of locals come too. Choosing this place will the best move you make in nelson!
