I have been staying at the Palms for a number of years and wrote this review really just to say thank you. Always clean and tidy, updating everything all the time,so whenever you stay it is like staying at a new motel. Its so close to the center of the City so you can walk around and shop and dine at the tens of Cafe Bars and eating houses. Built in such a way back of the road so sleeping is a bliss. Park your car outside your room. Owners and staff obliging, friendly and nothing is a problem.

Thank-you so much for your positive comments, it’s always a great feeling knowing our guests are happy. Yes cleanliness is a top priority for us. As for updating, it’s a ‘must!” In fact just today we have installed SKY so now you can choose from 50+ SKY Channels as well as the rest! Will you ever leave the room?! We have also replaced all the recliner chairs in the rooms – so you’ll be even more comfortable while surfing all those channels. We appreciate your feedback on sleep – we have double glazing in all the rooms to block out road noise and put in new beds in the last 6 weeks. I will pass on your comments to staff. Thanks again.

I stayed one night while travelling for work. This is a great motel from time you started booking to checking-out, all’s very pleasant. The staff is awesome and very helpful. The room had all you require for a comfy stay. I found the location is very convenient for restaurants/cafes and walks around the city etc - highly recommended.

I last reviewed the Palms in 2010. My recent visit showed that this place knows how to maintain top standards. Like all modern Motels, the Palms is functional rather than "exciting". It delivers a quality "sleep". Despite being in the heart of the shopping district the rooms are very quiet, and with the curtains pulled dark. The units are roomy, clean and contain everything you would expect from a top establishment.

It is an easy walk to shops, restaurants and the Saturday market.

It was a bit wintery on our visit so we never used the pool, but it looked as though it would be inviting in the right weather. It is my motel of choice when visiting Nelson.

This motel was just lovely. Very clean, modern and up to date furniture and accessories.
Close to town and very helpful with where to go etc. Would stay here again. We had one large unit for 3 and 1 studio for 1 person. Highly recommended.

We stayed here as part of a trip to NZ from the UK in February. We had a couple of nights in Nelson visiting friends and relaxing and stayed at the Palms.

The service was excellent and they happily accomodated a shift around in rooms to that we could be next door to our parents. They were full at the time, so I suspect this was easier said than done!!

The rooms themselves were comfortable and clean and the location is close enough that you are only a five minute walk into town.

All in all, highly recommended.

We were 2 couples spending a week in Nelson, so we were very happy with the 2 bed room apartment at the Palms Motel, we found it hard to find other 2 bed accommodation options.

It was a bit expensive for a motel, but when you consider it comfortably accommodated the 4 of us it made it good value for money.

The location was great, easy walk into the town centre of Nelson, and on a quiet side road. It was opposite a supermarket which was convenient.

The apartment itself was comfortable, with limited small kitchen, but enough for a few nights (2 ring hob, microwave, no oven).

There was also a washing machine.

Bathroom was spacious with large spa bath, and shower was hot and powerful.

One bedroom was a double bed, the other 2 twin beds. The beds were very comfortable, and there were extra pillows / duvets etc.

Hanging space was limited, it was easier to live out of our suitcases.

The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful.

The internet was $30 for 5 days, $40 for 7 days which i thought was reasonable. It wasn't much cheaper for shorter usages, so it would seem expensive for people with shorter stays.

We would stay here again, particularly with 4 people to share the costs.

We paid $250 a night, so $125 per couple, over the April Easter bank holiday weekend.
