Visited this restaurant on a sunny but chilly lunchtime and were seated on a balcony area overlooking the sea. Guessing this would be a lovely location in warm weather but we found it quite chilly, with the ambiance spoiled somewhat by the plastic blinds. We just had one dish each. Both dishes were nicely prepared and served but small. I often fail to eat all the gigantic servings that NZ restaurants typically deliver, but in this case I could certainly have eaten more

Excellent lunch over the water with a lovely view and impeccable service. Nice to see a big container ship pass close by!

We had lunch here one day and like it so much we came back a couple of days later for dinner. We tried the "trust the chef " menu and it was wonderful.

We had two meals here, one where we were quite famished and the tasting menu was delicious and generous and the second was a la carte. The chefs seem innovative with use of local produce.

This place used to be a local favourite and probably the only great seafood place around years and years ago when I was living in Nelson.

This time the food is a little bit salty and personally, I think it is no longer value for money with the food it offers. We ordered the pan fried squids with salads and the steamed mussels for main. Both costs around $20ish but I was really disappointed with the size of the squid dish... It was a starter size and the price was certainly for a main. The buff oyster costs about $4.50 per one without shells and it was really really tasty and fresh. The steamed mussels was not a dish that I would remembered for a very long time as its a bit salty and wasn't as good as the ones that we tried at Belgium. (Sorry, have to benchmark with the best). All foods were a little bit too salty was its certainly a feast to the eyes - very nicely presented. A little bit too small of the serving but fresh ingredients were definitely used.

Tables are nice and clean. The view of tahunanui beach is fantastic especially when you get a window seats next to the water. Pretty relaxed and amazing views. The service is a bit slow but warm and friendly.
