“A perfect dinner overlooking the water.”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

We wanted a special evening out and were not disappointed. The view of the sunset over the water from the first floor dining room created just the right ambiance and the server was attentive and friendly. Our salmon starters were melt in the mouth gorgeous. These were followed by the fish of the day, perfectly cooked swordfish, and finally a couple of delicious desserts. These fresh and tasty dishes, complemented by nice wines, gave us one of the best dining experiences we've had for a long time and fully deserving of five stars.

“Harbour views, friendly service, creative cuisine”
Reviewed 14 March 2014

The fresh fish is presented creatively and the meat is up to New Zealand's best standards. Good desserts. A table by the window gives tremendous harbour views.

“Pure excellence and indulgence!”
Reviewed 11 March 2014 via mobile

This restaurant is the go to if you fancy something special on the waterfront, whether your a couple or a small party, this place never fails to impress. The food is the best local produce exquisitely prepared, with a great wine list, which isn't hard in this region, it uses some of the more boutique vineyards. The service is just the right mix of friendly and informative. I love this place and have some of the best memories attached to it and the family meals we have shared here.

“Superb Food and wonderful views!”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

We made a reservation by phone which was simple and easy. A young chap took the reservation and our details and was most polite and efficient. He also said he looked forward to seeing us but unfortunately he was not on that evening. We arrived on time and were shown to our table which was exactly where we were told we would be seated. i.e. Upstairs on the side looking at the sunset. There were two waitresses on this evening and they seemed to share the duties as both waited on us. Our order was taken by a young Korean girl who was very nice and efficient. The other was a young American, from Virginia. She too also very nice and did get the job done. A bit too chatty perhaps but non the less very polite. The only thing which really let the entire restaurant down was the state of dress these two young ladies were in. The Owner/Manager really needs to have a serious discussion with them about their attire. Black and White is fine and seems to be the standard colors for wait staff in New Zealand, however, it needs to be, CLEAN and Pressed. Shoes should be closed and polished.
Also, hair if long for both men and women, should either be worn up or TIED back. This did not spoil our evening but for a restaurant, it is important for the staff not to look as if they had slept in their kit. They are the Front Line and the first impression! Our meal was Lovely and was also timely. No rush and no long waits between courses. Wine list is adequate but perhaps a few more choices on wine by the glass, would be appreciated. ( ? )
I was also most impressed with the new lighting. Tasteful large lamps now hung from the ceiling are welcome improvement from the mini spots which shined in your eyes from every direction.
We'll be back.
