“Russell's little gem!”

I book at the Seaport Village, so we have somewhere really central to stay when we meet up with our sailors competing in the Coastal Classic Yacht Race - and boy is it central! You couldn't get closer to the action :-) As for Baden, well, where do I start - he's the most friendly, welcoming and helpful Manager you could ever meet :-) I thoroughly recommend staying at the Seaport Village - Russell is a very special place for us.

Room Tip: The rooms on the Seaport Village carpark side will be quieter than the ones bordering on the Western...

My partner and I stayed here for two nights. It was delightful the accommodation was spacious and the attention to detail was second to non. The room was immaculate. I wished we could have stayed longer.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed for two nights in a studio apartment which although fairly basic was good value for money as we got a great deal. We had a separate bedroom which was quite cramped (only one bedside table and light) but the bed was comfortable, The living area was spacious with a small deck. The kitchen and especially the bathroom are in need of renovation. The bathroom in particular was extremely dated with only one small bar of soap for both the hand basin and shower, and shampoo but no conditioner. However there were two sunny decks for breakfast or dinner and we had no problem with noise. The position is great, close to everything with off street parking. We found some of the basic amenities were missing (no washing up liquid or sponge to wipe down the kitchen benchtop), and the lighting was very dim, but with a little more attention to detail this could be a very good place to stay. For the price we paid I was more than happy but there is room for some improvement.

Room Tip: We stayed in Studio 1 which has a separate lounge, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Our friends stayed...

My partner and I took an impromptu drive to Russell last weekend and decided to stay a night at Seaport. The host was friendly and the rate was one of the better valued ones (for central accommodation). We had a studio room that was spacious and clean.
Unfortunately due to the close proximity of the location of the room to the host's residence - we were woken up by noise from the host's family (I believe) before 7am! (and I believe the night before) The laughing and the carrying on went on intermittently until 9:30am when I decided that I have had enough and got out of bed. Not a relaxing start to the morning. There was also no milk in the huge fridge although there was tea and coffee making facilties.

Room Tip: Try to book a room as far away from the office as possible.

Right in the centre of Russell with easy access to shops and restaurants. Our studio room was fine, nothing special I assume from other reviews that it hasn't yet been refurbished. However it was comfortable. We visited in the NZ autumn and were able to get a good rate so overall worth considering. Good value for Russell

Room Tip: Ask Bayden, the manager, what his best rate is. Don't be afraid to give him your budget. He is v...

We had a great studio room. Fantastic decor, really central. But the second night we were disturbed by banging and crashing. But on investigation there was nobody upstairs.

The value for money was great as we had bought vouchers.

Would be happy to visit again.
