“couldn't have been more pleased!”
Reviewed 21 March 2013

Lesley was the most friendly host with great and helpful advice. We were there for 3 nights in the double bed with our own bathroom (stunning bath tub!). The place is very uniquely designed (tiny footprints of her children in the concrete) with a touch of Polynesian influence (giant sea shells everywhere!). Walls were decorated with interesting paintings done by the host herself. Breakfast was amazing! It included honey roasted muesli (and other options), toast with a variety of jams, fresh fruit, eggs and bacon or hot waffles, both were deliciously cooked. On warm mornings breakfast is served on the porch that outlooks a stunning garden and the bay with docked yachts beyond. The view is absolutely stunning! We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in beautiful Russel.

I have just spent the most amazingly peaceful 5 days at Leasley. It is truly a place of peace and traquility. The birds fill the garden with song, the garden is amazing and the breakfasr 5 star. The ensuite has a quaint roll top bath and the bed is like a nest.
All in all I cant compliment Lesley enough on her beautiful her. Its paradise.

We arrived late after a four hour drive from Aukland and a 26 hour haul from Japan! Exhausted but delighted to be in Northland, we were welcomed by Lesley into her beautiful home with a hot cup of coffee and smiles. Billie the staffie was an additional unexpected pleasure, sweet and very sociable, we soon felt at home.
Breakfast at Lesley's is a treat, copious servings of cereals, toasts, and best of all freshly made waffles with cream and red fruit topping, coffee plunger with refills, all on the outside deck with views into the bay and cicadas going mental in the bushes. Made for a very lazy, very recuperative and utterly memorable start to our New Zealand leg of the tour.
Hope one day to visit Lesley again... No question of looking elsewhere, would recommend this place and this personalized welcome with five stars.
Hope you have a great time too!

I stayed at Lesley's B&B a few years ago now, just getting round to doing reviews of my trips! I booked the room at the last minute and she had a beautiful cosy room available. Lesley collected me from the ferry and made me feel so welcome. It was at the end of a 3 month trip around NZ and I was very sad to leave. I did not have a car and Lesley drove me to and fro and bent over backwards to help me find other accommodation when I decided I wanted to stay in Russell longer and she was fully booked. A personal touch makes all the difference. A very warm welcome, fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed in for one night in December and wanted to stay for longer...Lesley is very nice and welcoming and her house is a warm reflection of her personality and artistic talent, making for a very relaxing athmosphere. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, bright and airy and we thoroughly enjoyed our beautiful breakfast outdoors; homemade yoghurt and breads, fresh fruit and a choice of hot or cold breakfast. Would really recommend!

A paradise of art and design and sub-tropical gardens - not to mention the amazing breakfasts of organic mueslis, fruit, omelettes, waffles, bacon and eggs. The B&B has a lovely private bathroom, dining area and 2 bedrooms (one a loft). Lesley has poured her artistic love and excellent hosting in to this lovely little B&B a pleasant 10 min walk from 'downtown' Russell. We enjoyed talking with her about her other life in French Polynesia and her family. Thanks Lesley for the 4 night stay over New Year 2011/2012. Roger and Adele.

Stayed a couple of nights here in December 2011 and it was really lovely. Lesley the owner was very nice and also cooked us a fantastic breakfast (we had waffles with fresh fruit and muesli and yoghurt! yummy!). Lesley also told us some of the places that we should go to in Russell which was really good as well.

The bathroom and room were tidy and it had wireless internet too which was good. The room cost us $160.00 (which includes breakfast but you can also pay extra for dinner, not sure how much that was).

All in all I found Lesleys to be a great bed and breakfast, tidy, affordable and would definitely stay there again.
