We stopped randomly at this winery while traveling in New Zealand and were very pleasantly surprised to meet a wonderful helpful lady there, Anne Boustead. She represented the Sileni Winery which has acceptional wines plus the great selection of cheeses on site and lots of other fun foods and things that go along with a great wine. She also gave us lots of travel advice on New Zealand which was very helpful since it was our first trip there. We hope to go back for longer some day and will definitely stop at this winery again!

Is was the first stop on our wine tasting adventure and I could not have wished for a better first stop. The location is beautiful and sets a great vibe. The wine is exquisite and so affordable, but it tastes like expensive wine. We truly loved all of the wines we were able to taste and struggled to not purchase a whole car full. The facility is wonderfully and decorated and full of great gifts, cheese and chocolate. The lady who was doing the wine tasting was amazing and offered up wonderful recommendations for the area. she even went so far as to write out the places to visit, the cafes, restaurants, and attractions to go see on our map. She was even so wonderful as to recommend other wineries in the region and to let us know which would not be open in winter. Sileni Estates are a must for anyone in is area!

After touring 2 or 3 other vineyards it was nice to arrive at Sileni where Anne greeted us with a 'larger than life' information and tasting session. She was enthusiastic had a story for each wine and just really seemed to know her stuff.
I give Anne 5 stars and the wine 4 :) Well worth the visit if you're in the area.

We dropped in late in the afternoon a little past the time it said was the last tasting but were graciously received and given a full tasting experience. The wines were good and the service excellent. Don't forget to visit the cheese room.

We visited Sileni on a Wine Tour yesterday. Jan, our hostess, gave us an interesting introduction Sileni's history and the wines in a very relaxed, enjoyable way! The deli style shop is also very tempting! Well worth a visit if you are in 'The Bay'!!
