My wife and I stayed for 2 nights during touring trip to Northern Spain.
The small hotel is full of character and the quality of the building renovation has been featured in some Spanish magazines. Even with the rough stone walls and fixtures and fittings that are consistent with an old property, the hotel was maintained spotlessly clean with (in our room - I didn't go into any others) an excellent modern bathroom with large walk in shower.
The proprietor was extremely helpful, insisting on carrying the luggage up to our room, which was at the front of the hotel, overlooking the local church below the hotel.
Pre-dinner drinks were served (with generous portions) on a small table that the proprietor set up by the open fire that formed the centre piece of the sitting area within the lower floor.
Dinner was available if required and the set menu was helpfully provided hand written in English. We were really pleased that we decided to go with it - as the quality of the food was excellent. So much so that we decided to dine in the following night as well (again with a set but different menu).
The only noises were the distant sound of cow bells from the local animals roaming in the surrounding hills.
An excellent hotel for a short break - particularly if you are looking for service, character and quietness.Definitely recommended.
