“Great lunch time experience.”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

My wife and I acquired a Tastecard recently, so decided to travel to the Three Horseshoes for lunch. We were greeted by a very polite young man who had reserved a table for us. I like real ale and was offered samples of the guest beers. We ordered our food, the service was excellent as was the food, in all a very good Tastecard experience. Will be returning again soon.

“Somerset Ham, village eggs, chips and Butcombe Bitter YUM!”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

Well, this was a REAL find. I was visiting friends in Nunney and they suggested lunch at The Three Horseshoes. We were made welcome by a charming lady - who let me sample the Butcombe Bitter, which was delicious. I had the ham Eggs and Chips, simple food! well done. A good menu with a sensible amount of choices, rather than a pretentious large offering, and a reassuring note at the bottom, about locally sourced food. The cheese board had three excellent cheeses, and a great mini trough of Apple jelly, and black olive crackers. It is a shame I live so far away, I would be there regularly. Well Done!!!

“A Sunday lunch to beat most!”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

My husband and I came across this wonderful country inn by recommendation of our friends and we are so glad we strayed off our path to Devon to give it a go!
We were greeted by friendly, smiling, young staff who told us not having a reservation was no trouble, they would find space for us even when the pub was bustling with people. They offered us a drink the moment we arrived at the bar... And what an array! My husband is an ale enthusiast and he was spoilt for choice! He was recommended 'Butcombe bitter' and thoroughly enjoyed it.
As it was a Sunday, we both opted for the roast lamb (recommended by a young chef who was picking fresh herbs right next to our table) and could not be happier with our choice. I have been disappointed with pub Sunday lunches a lot recently, almost giving up finding one worth the money, but this was not only delicious but reasonably priced!!
The meat was succulent and full of flavour, hints of garlic and rosemary coming through the unctuous, thick, perfect gravy. The potatoes were crispy and the yorkshires tender. All in all, a perfect roast lunch!
We followed that up with a delicious portion of sticky toffee pudding which looked beautiful on the plate.
All in all, we had a brilliant lunch and will definitely be coming back. Well done!
