“Poor service/poor room”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

This hotel has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in based on the money paid- £154.00 for the night. We ordered a double room and was given a twin room, which is great when you haven't seen each other for two months!! We complained and were met with a shrug of the shoulders by a trainee....asked to see the manager and the same!! Truly awful response and its a case of we have your money and we could not care less now!!

Breakfast was a help yourself affair with waitress' who barely acknowledged you and did not appear to actually do much!

Overall a sub-standard Radisson hotel and I have stayed in the chain all over the world! Manager need some serious training and its a worry when she is setting this poor example to staff!! Remember....the customer is always right!! apparently not in this case but then you did already have my money!!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! STAY AT THE RICA.....much better!!

"Go out of the airport door, turn right, and the hotel is 50 metres in front of you." That was the reply I got when I asked for directions in the airport. I couldn't believe how close the airport was to the terminal building. Despite its close proximity it seems to be adequately sound insulated as I don't recall being disturbed by aircraft noise.
I found the bed a little too soft for my liking and the hotel committed the cardinal sin in my book of not thoroughly cleaning the bathroom. I saw hairs of a previous occupant on the bathroom floor. Also the builder's skip in the corridor on the second floor upset the ambiance!
Apart from those negatives the hotel was tastefully decorated and comfortable. Breakfast started early (0500) which allowed those of us checking out early to eat. Breakfast was typical for a Norwegian hotel. Nothing special, but adequate.
Free wi-fi is standard and there were a couple of english-speaking channels on the TV including BBC World News.
I also noticed that you can check in for your flight from within the hotel lobby which is handy.

As we were flying at 6.00 am this hotel was a no brainer and they cater for the early traveller in that breakfast starts at 5.00 and the advice was to check in our baggage and return for breakfast - easily the closest I have slept to an airport !! Rooms great and breakfast very good - bar seems to close rather early .

We were arriving into Trondheim on a late flight from Heathrow (arriving 11:30pm) and so instead of staying with our friends that night, we opted to book into the Radisson Blu at Trondheim Airport. It's just a 2-minute short stroll from the terminal to the hotel.
This is a glamorous, new building - all glass and metal. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist and checked in quickly. It being late at night, my rusty Norwegian was a little dodgy but the receptionist was patient and smiling whilst I retrieved the words from my brain's dark recesses.
Our room was extremely quiet, clean and pristine. Wonderfully comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and nice quality toiletries etc. Free wi-fi.
If you've never been to Scandinavia, the breakfasts are usually a very pleasant surprise, even in the most humble accommodation. We are regular visitors and thus know what to expect. All the same, the breakfast buffet at the Radisson Blu Trondheim Airport was a stand-out. A vast array of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, artisan bread, cheeses, cold meats, cold-smoked and hot-smoked salmon, herring and hot dishes such as mushrooms, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon etc, as well as the obligatory hard-boiled and soft-boiled eggs which you will always be offered in Scandinavia, and jams/preserves and pastries.
Great coffee, tea, juices, milk.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Yes, it's not cheap but then hotels in Scandinavia are generally expensive compared to other countries. Radisson Blu Trondheim Airport is definitely worth the money, particularly for weary travellers.

This is a great airport hotel. Literally 20 seconds walk from the terminal, yet quiet. The restaurant's tables are far enough apart to where one can have a pleasant meal. The menu is not extensive, but good. Breakfast included - and, what a breakfast! They start serving at 5AM, so even if you have an early flight, there is enough time. In short, everything one wants in an airport hotel. Bravo, Radisson!

This is not a fancy hotel but it is spot on for an airport hotel. Its only a few steps from the terminal yet very well sound proofed so you wouldnt realise it.

Rooms are 'business like' - not particularly out of the ordinary but comfortable and clean with decent beds (more than one pillow would have been better though). I slept really well and wasn't disturbed at all from noise (I had been concerned about aircraft but this wasn't an issue at all).

Food was simple but tasty enough (think 'standard' hotel food for room service and more 'local' dishes in the restaurant). Wine list really wasnt great, but for a night you can survive.

Staff are helpful and checking in and out was very efficient. Theres also an airline self service check-in booth in the hotel which is practical and saves time when running for a flight.

Would happily stay again

To me, this hotels is about as good as it gets. Spacious, clean, stylish rooms with good beds. Friendly personnel. Excellent location. Good and healthy breakfast with lots of fruits. Really, after staying in about 100 hotels in Norway I cannot remember any hotel that is in the same league. May this hotel set an example for the competition. My congratulations to the hotel management!
