“Hidden in the desert”

Love the option of two tracks. One up and around the canyon, the other more gentle option of through the canyon. Some slight steps, but very manageable. Take your binoculars or zoom lens with you. Lots of birds to see and looking at the cliff face up close is amazing.
Go early in day/morning before it gets too hot. Take your fly net with you too.

“worth to climbing up”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014

i took the trip with The Rock Tour from Alice Spring. We arrived at the park at 1pm and started the tour. i wont recommend the tours starting this time as it was so hot and need a good health . however when we finally could climbed up, it was so amazing landscape compensated for our hard work:).

the tour with the Rock tour was fun and cost saving as we did the camping and slept under the stars. The first day of the camping lacked of toilets :) but they drove us to the camping ground in the early morning after that for a shower.

“Kings Canyon rim walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2014

its best to get an early start on the rim walk. we left at 6.30am and its the best time. sunrise was spectacular. our guide Malcom was really informative. i dont like heights but its a good walk and views are well worth the steep start. the staircase and bridges we crossed to the Garden of Eden made me feel like i was in an indianna jones movie. a really great morning walk to experience Kings Canyon.my husband also had a scenic helicopter flight. well worth adding this to a trip to Uluru. We had no mobile phone reception which was wonderful. three days of no contact with anyone back home.! make sure you use facilities before embarking on walk. take lots of water to drink.

“Hard work but worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

Climbing to the top and doing the rim walk was a highlight of our trip. The views are spectacular and you can't see this anywhere else. Make sure you start early in the day as the walk was closed at 9am both days we were there.

“AATKings Kings Canyon rim and base walk with Shorty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2014

Our day started early heading off from Sails in the desert Yulara around 4 am we were greeted by our guide Leonie in the foyer and soon introduced to our driver for the day Liam or as he prefers to be called Shorty a moment latter we headed off to pick up the other day travellers from around Yulara before hitting the highway. Now my wife and I sat ourselves directly behind the driver {Shorty} now this could have proved to be a bad decision if some wild animal came a bound-in through the front window but it wasn't a bad decision no animals on the bus {not four legged any way you had to be there} our first stop was at a homestead in the middle of now were that served ok food and just ok coffee however at this time of the morning any coffee is appreciated.Back on the bus after breakfast and off to Kings Canyon, now on the bus were were offered two choices head off for a walk around the rim of the canyon with Leonie approximately three and a half hours or a walk along the base of the canyon with Shorty and the option of a helicopter flight after the walk and before lunch, My wife and I chose to go with shorty {great choice} we started the walk with a run down of what to expect and saftey issues before heading of on a quite easy enjoyable tour taking around one and a half hours to complete we even got to see the others that went off for the rim walk hanging over the cliff.
Now with the tour complete the ever obliging Shorty dropped four of us off at The professionals Helicopter service were our pilot Bryce took us up for a very informative flight before returning back to the Kings Canyon hotel for lunch. the trip back was a pleasant one with everyone falling asleep Shorty and I took up talking.
I would like to give a special praise for our Bus driver Shorty He may be short in stature but is one of the tallest blokes I know in heart and Kind Shorty did everything he could to make every ones day sensational Well done and thanks If after reading this story and you choose to do an AATKings tour I hope you to are fortunate to meet Shorty
