“Great place to visit”

Very informative, educational, a must to go and see. Staff are beautiful and great service . I came away from the centre and feeling ashamed of what our fore bearers did to these indigenous people .

Thank you for your review. It gladdens our hearts to read your comments and see that you were so moved by your visit to Nyinkka Nyunyu.
It is not uncommon for people to leave the museum feeling moved, some are even teary-eyed! It's not that we celebrate people being upset; rather that we appreciate the depth to which people embrace the museum displays and stories.

“Learned to much”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

This is a must for all travellers going through Tennant Creek. What an amazing experience, learning about the local Aboriginal people, their culture, their memories, their knowledge and their friendliness. We paid $12.50 each and got an audio tour of their gallery and grounds and learned about flora, fauna, tools, hunting, local tradition, skin names and language. Particularly grateful to Jerry Kelly for spending so much one on one time with us. Thank you also to the Warumungu for welcoming us to your country.

Wow, what a lovely review! Thank you so much for expressing how much you enjoyed your visit to Nyinkka Nyunyu. Jerry loves sharing his culture with visitors, and understands how much people yearn for face-to-face conversations with traditional people. He makes complex matters easy to understand with his gentle nature and great sense of humour!
I will be sure to show him your lovely review! Thanks again, and enjoy the rest of your travels!

Thank you sincerely for your kind review.
Yes, indeed, the art does change as you travel across Australia. As much as the landscape changes, so does the local artwork, which is so heavily connected to, and influenced by, the surrounding 'country.'
We are pleased that this was apparent to you, meaning that each place is being true to its location and environment.
We hope you continue to enjoy discovering other forms of Aboriginal art from other parts of Australia!
