We wanted somewhere nice to stay for our 20th Wedding anniversary, and The Arrow Private Hotel ticked all the boxes. The individual units were quiet, romantic, beautifully appointed and prefectly maintained. This is a very well thought out and executed establishment. Thanks Tim, we will be back.

Congratulations again on your 20th Wedding Anniversary. A great achievement.

It was a pleasure to meet you both and to share in some way in your special event. Next time you are back, let's have a glass of wine in front of the fire in the old stone cottage. You can let me in your special secrets to achieving that special milestone.

Sharing a wine with the host was a splendid way to end the day. This modern gorgeous lodging is nestled right beside Arrowtown's beautiful walking tracks & a quick walk to the village. We loved our nights here & would stay forever if we could - Bliss!

It was our pleasure to be able to light the fire and to share a wine and a few stories with you. We hope you enjoyed and will remember fondly your action packed 40th birthday weekend away with friends. The food, the golf, the walk up into Sawpit Gully and the bath time fun in the suite.

Make sure you call into to say hi next time you are down this way!

This was a holiday splurge for us and was worth every cent .
Tim welcomed us showing us the lounge in where southern hospitality is on offer from five pm every evening and then he took up up to our suite . Amazing in every detail. Everything you need to have have fun, romance , or to work .Breakfast is available in the lounge or delivered to your room . .The provisions were fresh and tasty . We were so happy we extended our stay another two days . Tim's partner Pauline like him is amazingly helpful Arrowtown has no petrol station and we arrived almost out of gas . Pauline immediately offered us a ten lite can.

Room Tip: Book early to avoid disappointment

It was great to meet two people who have been involved in the Accommodation industry for so long who still have a passion about it. Thanks for your advice and we'd love to see you come down for one of your sojourns in winter. The world changes at The Arrow with a layer of white snow dressing the trees.

Thank you Paulette - we recently stayed at The Arrow after having 2 very busy weeks in Southland and we were fairly weary when we arrived.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the delightful Paulette who immediately made us welcome and showed us to our 'haven' - really fantastic room, awesome view, electric floors (warm and cosy), a plus size 2 ended shower room and a gorgeous bath that has a unique glass sliding screen so you can bask and watch the TV, with a glass of champers in hand:-), the kitchenette is fully equipped (not that cooking was necessary with great restaurants or delivered gourmet pizza available, not to miss mentioning the really great breakfast that was ordered in house), the kitchen is 'hidden' behind a sliding wooden screen which has a plasma screen fitted in the centre - unique!
The whole experience was so relaxing we stayed an extra night - the ambiance is created by the furnishings which very much match the surrounding landscape in their tasteful and interesting colour choices, the whole experience was just awesome.
Paulette was a fantastic hostess as we joined her in 'The Croft' - the gorgeous, original stone cottage which is the reception/bar and meeting place, complete with open fire, it was a delightful evening with delicious nibbles, quality local wines and the company of a very informative and personable hostess (Paulette).
We will be back, we took heaps of photos and we need to take more and we would definitely go out of our way as 'The Arrow' is a destination in its own right!
Thanks Paulette for your hospitality - next time we are looking forward to meeting Tim too :-)
Tanya and Mark

Room Tip: Any room here would be fantastic! All have awesome views of the surrounding hills and riverfront.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Arrow Private Hotel is an Arrowtown Boutique Hotel just five minutes walk from the centre of Arrowtown. With very contemporary design and styling, the Hotel recently won a prestigious architecture award and guests frequently comment on the attention to detail in the suites. In contrast, a historic stone cottage is the central meeting place at the Hotel. It is used as the reception area and as a house bar for evening refreshments and canapes. The roaring fire is very welcoming on a cold winters evening and many a tale has been told before guests walk into Arrowtown for their evening dinner. The Private Hotel is recognised one of the best Arrowtown B&B's. It operates more like a luxury lodge with each of the suites having its own private access and a hot cooked breakfast is delivered to each suite daily via a secret cupboard. With only 5 suites we are able to provide a very personal and private service . Adventures of all levels are not far away from the Hotel. Walking and cycling trails run right past the base of the Hotel which backs onto Coronet Peak Station. The Arrow Private Hotel is 20 minutes drive from the Coronet Peak ski field, from the Gibbston Wine region and from Queenstown. There are also 3 great golf courses within 5 minutes drive. ... more   less
