Owner description: Arrowtown’s surprises at every corner with new activities, restaurants, cafes and accommodation options. You don’t have to dig far in this sophisticated, yet quaint village to find why this charming town oozes heritage whether the newly restored miner’s cottages, the latest exhibit at the Lakes District Museum or the magnificent trails. Arrowtown is renowned for its café and restaurant culture. Whether fine dining, or enjoying a casual pizza or pie, there are delicious options for every budget and time span. Boutique beers and local wines are just some of the beverages on offer. Arrowtown’s tree lined streets, shops and cafes housed in original buildings and its proximity to walking /cycling tracks, vineyards, golf courses and ski fields, make it a must visit destination. Arrowtown sits only 20 minutes from Queenstown and a mere 15 minutes from Queenstown airport.

“Great little town to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2014

I am a local but I love going to Arrowtown to eat, hang out with friends over coffee and going for walks on the trails around the town. It is not big but big enough to suit everyone. Winter is different from Summer, so it can be visited all year round. The pies are great from the bakery. A big red bus tour from Q'town is a nice way to see it as well.

“Quaint township”

So lovely to meander through the main street of Arrowtown, so picturesque. Great dining experiences and the kids loved the lolly shop.

“Excellent relaxing and beautiful place to spend the day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

The quaint Arrowtown village is good for spending a day, browsing though idiosyncratic designer shops, food shops, caffes etc. Of not the Postmaster's Residence, but there are other food places as well. The view is idyllic and the pace is, or should be, slow. Take a good camera with both wide angle and tele lense. But that is necessary everywhere you go in the area...

“Love it.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Disclaimer: we live here, we love it. But I talk to visitors every day, so here we go. It is very pretty, clean and safe. The historic building are 99% well maintained but not tacky. A great selection of cafes, casual restaurants, a couple of bars and more serious dining too. Good range of retail for those who like shopping. It kind of looks like a movie set it's so post-card pretty. Wander about, look at the cool buildings, walk along the river, visit the excellent Museum and Chinese Village.
