“True luxury and comfort in a farm setting”
Reviewed 15 March 2013

I was looking for a farm stay with a little luxury. From start to finish my stay exceeded all of my expectations. This B&B was luxurious and spotless with nice little touches everywhere. I loved the seclusion and the feeling of peacefulness. Ruth, the owner went above and beyond to give me all of the local information I needed to plan my stay from Sydney. She stocked the fridge with lovely local fresh food and wine. My husband and I felt truly spoilt!

We stayed at the Mount Pleasant Homestead over the New Years period in 2011. Ruth Amery has an amazing eye for interior design and a natural sense of what her guests need, with every creature comfort thought of in this stylish, renovated farm house. From the fabulous homemade muesli, fluffy towels, coffee machine to the pile of current magazines we were in heaven. A wonderful, relaxing break.

We stayed here looking for a quiet weekend away in the country. We go away for weekends at least 10 times a year from Melbourne and we haven't stayed in a cottage/B&B as nice as this ever.
The cottage is perfectly secluded, the breakfast provisions were plentiful for 2 days and the house was immaculately clean. The pictures only show half of the superb story. The house has everything you could need. A stocked fridge, great coffee, big couches, plenty of books and a cool sound system. The bath and bikes are great extra perks. We drove through to Bright and Beechworth on day trips and they are great, but decided to stay in and cook on the BBQ. We will definitely be back, and the owner Ruth is a pleasure to deal with.

Room Tip: Both rooms are great

Lovely big house in a secluded, peaceful area. Well appointed, well equipped kitchen. Big clean rooms with modern facilities and lovely furniture in the rooms. Bathrooms were really nice and luxurious. Outside area great with gas BBQ and seating area. Nice little touches, for example use of a telescope to watch the stars.

Great base to explore the Milawa gourmet region. Cycle paths lead from the front door to Milawa. Brilliant for visiting the Brown Brothers vineyard - no squabbles over designated drivers!! We took our own bikes but there seemed to be 2 bikes at the property, I presume for guest use.

Breakfast - amazing!

Thoroughly recommend this property.
