“Moderate sized walk with rewarding views”
Reviewed 3 January 2013

The walk up Mt Coolum starts just off David Low Way. There is a decent sized car park. We had no issues finding a park on a Saturday morning. Easily achievable in a bit over an hour with moderate fitness. Part of the top section has been upgraded with man-made steps instead of loose rock however there were still sections which require at least walking shoes. There are no toilets available at the bottom or on the walk so go before you start.

The view from the top is very rewarding, we had a perfect day with a nice cool breeze. Would get quite hot in the middle of the day in summer as there isn't much shade to rest at the top.

Nice walk to do in the morning before a late breakfast/brunch at one of the cafes nearby!
Enjoy!

“A good workout with the reward of great views”
Reviewed 27 December 2012

A good climb through rich Australian bushland up to heathland on the top. Great views. One of the highlights of the Sunshine Coast. Tough if you're not fit but not difficult if you go slowly.

“Worth seeing”
Reviewed 25 September 2012

A good climb through rich Australian bushland up to heathland on the top. Great views. One of the highlights of the Sunshine Coast. Tough if you're not fit but not difficult if you go slowly.

National parks people have destroyed some of the natural experience (good job promoting nature, guys!) when they recently built a huge number of steps into the long steep section, which has killed a lot of the fun and challenge. It feels like you're in a giant zig-zag conga line through that stretch, but the other parts are still great and on the plus side, you don't have to listen out for the crunching sound of grandma breaking something.

“Well worth a walk”
Reviewed 31 August 2012

Be careful in some places going up and down as there are steps for most of the way, but anyone who is unsure on their feet should probably not attempt it. Well worth the walk up on a nice day though.
