“Not so welcome by the beach”
Reviewed 1 December 2012

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at this resort. It was disappointing to find we had been locked out of the main bedroom facing the pool and had to sleep in the 2nd room facing the road opposite a bowling club. This meant the noise was considerable and we could never have the window or curtains open. Having decided to make the best of it we were a bit put off by notices of "hands off anything in the cupboards" and that the mattress was due for resanitising in December. I couldn't help but look for bugs. It was also dusty and there was a nice little pile of sand left on the kitchen counter. All things considered I think they could do better because the position is perfect for a great holiday.

Thank you for your feedback.
You would have booked a 1 bedroom apartment and in this case we gave you a 2 bedroom apartment, but locked down the 2nd bedroom and 2nd bathroom which are located on the pool side of the apartment.
The main bedroom with ensuite is located on the bowls club side in all apartments in that block. If you were unhappy with the situation, we would have readily done all we could to remedy it, had we known.
I do not know the exact dates you stayed, but wonder if it was when the night road works were occurring here to complete the "streetscape" project by the Regional Council. I did have a sign on the office door apologising for any inconvenience and in fact moved one guest when they requested.
I am sorry, but I do not understand where you would have seen any signs saying "hands off anything in the cupboards" as the only sign is asking guests to remove rubbish on departure and put the dishes in the dishwasher.
There are a couple of "owner's cupboards" - one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen area - for owners personal belongings. They are locked, but there is no sign on them.
Yes, an annual mattress sanitisation program is undertaken (by all resorts) once a year.
If I had known your stay was not enjoyable, I would have done what I could to make it so.
Kind regards
Shirley

Stayed here for a conference recently for 4 nights. It's great in that shops, cafes are at ur doorstep. Yet the apartments are private with secure undercover parking. There's a pool that's heated but no gym. The apartment was clean, fully equipped kitchen, just bring your own milk, drinks etc. the only downside was a slightly off putting smell from the main bathroom, which I suspect has to do with the plumbing. Otherwise good value for money.

Sorry about the smell from the drain - the apartment must not have been used for a few days and would have just needed some hot water running for a few minutes to clear the drain.
There is a new gym opening up in Coolum this week - Jett's Gym. Should be a real boost for the area also.
Thanks for your review

Thank you Jenny, for your review.
Yes we are in a very convenient location. You can just park your car under the building in the gated carpark or catch the shuttle from the airport and just walk to everything you need from Element.
See you next time:)

What a wonderful find! Right on the beach with many handy cafes and eating places 'underneath'. For 5 nights my family stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom / modern / spacious unit. Very comfortable and everything you would want in accommodation. We were on level 3 overlooking pool but not too noisy. Lovely staff and Shirley manager greeted us on arrival. Very attractive new complex.
My daughter and I each had a massage in Element's Day Spa - Wow!
Very handy to all other Sunshine Coast attractions - visit the Eumundi Markets for bargains. We will definitely return

Room Tip: Perhaps units overlooking pool might be noisy in summer holiday (school) times?

well im not sure where to start.... first appearance is everything and Element has got it!!! we arrived to be greeted by lovely staff members who were very helpful :) assisted with alot of out of hotel services from car hire to tours and restaurants. very freindly staff willing to help in anyway. our apartment was one of the best overlooking the pool and panoramic views of the ocean room (3305) very spacious separate rooms from lounge area with all new and up to date appliances. the heated pool and secure carpark are added bonuses that compliment this hotel. i would be sure to come back and stay here in a heart beat and reccommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing luxurious get away :)

This was our second visit to Element after about four years. We found the apartments to still be of excellent quality. The apartments are well set out, spacious and well kitted out. The service is friendly and efficient.

The pool isn't great for kids as there is no real area for young kids to play; but it is very close to the beach.

There are some good restaurants and cafes in the complex and it's not far to the main part of Coolum.

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us again, Andrew. I agree that we do not have a shallow pool for the children, but there are 2 great parks for the kids close by - Tickle Park has fantastic equipment in the playground for children of all ages, and of course the beach is just a short walk.
We look forward to seeing you again and helping make your next holiday just as good.
