It's been quite a while since I've eaten at the surf club. The last meal was bad enough to keep me away for 6 years, but when a friend recently suggested dining there I agreed. I knew the club had undergone refurbishment and that the restaurant had new management.
Let's not get carried away here, it's still a surf club with the associated noise and cafeteria-feel to it. What has improved is the food. Steaks were well cooked, salads were tasty. The menu was reasonably priced with good specials and a decent selection of gluten-free food. The surf club even makes its own tasty gluten-free dinner rolls and bread rolls (for the Coeliacs out there- how long has it been since you've had a tasty gluten-free hamburger in a restaurant?)
Service is so-so, the view is spectacular. I'll be back.
