This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet relaxing beautiful beach to hang out at. They have a couple of kayaks available to paddle around the bay, nice snorkeling and there's a great cenote only a short walk away. The breakfast, made and served by Pancho, is fantastic! There are only 2 other restaurants within walking distance, so it was really nice to have a car to find other places to eat dinner, as well as explore the area. No regrets whatsoever staying at this little hotel, would definitely go back.

The place is really nice. It's very laid back but is also still clean and well taken care of. The bay is right behind the inn and is a nice way to watch the sun rise but beware of mosquitos. Makes a great home base for day trips. There's a very small convenience store nearby and Tulum is a few minutes up the road.. the closest ATM is also in Tulum.

This was our second visit to the Tankah Inn. Once again, the Inn lived up to our expectations. Willie was on vacation, but Pedro did a great job in filling in for him.

Once again we were in the Tikal Room with it's beautiful view of the bay. The room was very clean; the water was hot and the A/C and fan kept the room cool. The mini-fridge kept the beer cold. Remember the rooms are basic but will meet all your needs.

The included made to order breakfasts which were prepared by Pancho were always a wonderful way to start the day.

The location of the Inn makes it a short drive both the beach area and town of Tulum. You will need a car to get around but the drives are short and easy.

just returned from Mexico and had the pleasure of staying at the Tankah Inn for 2 nights wish we had longer. The place is immaculate, the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen and the grounds and rooms are spotless. Willie the host truly makes you feel like you are visiting a friend and Pancho makes the best breakfast I have ever had, tried to steal him and bring him to the states. In a big world this is a great place, by the way Tankah Bay is an amazing place to visit, 5 minutes from Tulum and you can swim right out in the bay to the reef, great snorkeling, Casa Cenote is across the street and is amazing, a quiet hole in the wall, near everything you could want.

Our stay at the Tankah Inn was short, 3 nights only, but we really wished we had planned our vacation for a longer stay at this wonderful place. Our room was the Coba room and its king size bed was an excellent retrea after every adventure crammed day. The view of the small patio towards sunrise was motivating factor to get an early start every day.

The breakfast in the upstairs dining room with the fantastic view of Tankah bay was extremely relaxing. We enjoyed the great breakfast and as others have pointed out, Willie is an excellent host and a superb resource to activities in the area and history and perspective on the Maya Riviera. With all the sightseeing we did we found ourselves feeling bad about not hanging out more at the Inn. We hope to return next year and we promise to take advantage of the nice beach and the hamacas under their palapa. We might even do some snorkeling like some of the other guests talked about.

Tulum ruins are less than 10 minutes south and several cenotes are just north also less than 15 minutes away. Tankah Inn has a great location for all excursions even the great pyramid at Chichen Itza. We found Coba and Muyil all to be a stone's throw away.

The Tankah Inn is a little gem located on Tankah Bay. It delivers all that it promises on its web site and more. While the rooms are basic they are more than adequate for the traveler who wants to enjoy the tranquility of Tankah Bay. We stayed in the Tikal Room with its wonderful view of the bay. One could lie in bed, open the curtains and enjoy. The overall size of the room was excellent; with enough room for a king bed; a table with two chairs and other furniture. The A/C was exceptional and kept the room very comfortable. The ceiling fan added to the comfort of the room. The mini fridge kept our beer ice cold. The bed was definitely a cut above for this area. Pedro and Loida kept the room as clean as a whistle. A huge jug of purified water was in our room so we never had to worry about purchasing bottled water.

I would definitely recommend water shoes if you decide to stay here as the beach entry is rocky.

The included breakfast was excellent; it was cooked to order with a wide variety of choices. Pancho did a great job in preparing our morning meal.

Willie was an excellent innkeeper. He would greet us every morning and ask how everything was going. After living in the area for 15 years, he is an excellent source of information concerning the sites and dining options in the area.

All in all the Tankah Inn is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to be near Tulum; on the beach and wants to sleep in an air-conditioned environment. What you see on their web site is exactly what you get at the Tankah Inn.

Tankah Inn is a perfect place on a quiet beach with a very nice cenote (20 pesos) with in walking distance. Robert, the manager, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean, the AC worked well. The included breakfast is great with made to order food, fresh fruit and coffee/juice. All this and a view of the Tankah bay. There are free kayaks available. A very pleasant stay for the price.
