“We found our new home!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014

Staying in Nax Uxibal was one of our highlights on our holiday. We arrived late in the evening and woke up into paradise. Amazing!!! We stayed in casita HA where you can lay in your bed and see the sea, which is exactly 38 steps from the bed, counted myself :)
The place is peaceful, chill and offers every confort you need. You might need a car though as to make your shoppings or get into town. We always took taxi, which was also fine. And the view??? You can't have enough...

Javier and Victoria are very peaceful and kind people. Thank you once more for amazing experience, we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Casita HA or IK would be our choice again.

My husband and I had a wonderful romantic escape in one of the casitas. We came back with friends and kids and had a great family vacation in the big house. Definitely book a massage with Lucia, she is very skilled and will help you get into vacation mode quick! We've traveled a lot and this is definitely the best place we've ever stayed.

My husband took me back to our favorite place for my 50th birthday. We are repeat customers and will be as long as possible. I agree with all of the great reviews on here so I'll just hit the highest points. We love the Casitias but all of the property is great. The caretakers, Javier and Victoria (and their family), as always were wonderful. You must have Victoria cook for you. It's not expensive and you'll feel totaly spoiled. For us, this has become our home away from home. I cry when I get there and I cry when I leave.
You have to try Chamico's (the outdoor resturant on the south end of the beach) It's not fancy. Literally there is no 'inside' at all but you cannot beat the view. Right on the beach at the water's edge. And the food is great. We have become friends with Juan Chamico, the owner, and his family that work there and even though we may not speak the same language we can talk with them all day long. Juan even surprised me with a birthday cake that he brought to the Casita on my birthday.
To sum it up, we will vacation at Nah Uxibal as long as we are able. You will not be disapointed.

This property and location receives excellent reviews over and over and rightfully so. Online photos are beautiful, but once you step on to the property, you realize they do no justice for Nahuxibal. There is a peacefulness that surrounds you, a beauty that consumes you and quiet that relaxes you. As we continued our walk to the two beachfront (truly beachfront) casitas, paradise opened up before our eyes. The calm bay waters are just a few steps from the casitas. Kayaks are ready for your ocean adventures. The water, far from shore, is shallow enough if you prefer to walk in for a swim or snorkel. The water is clear with several shades of blue! Do not be put off with the seagrass. Not a big deal, and thank goodness it remains as it is so important to the sea life. A few steps beyond the grass, clear underwater viewing is beautiful. Up and down the bay is a beautiful sandy stroll. We observed many homes, but none that we saw had accommodations as close to the shore as our casitas. We were so happy we chose Nahuxibal. We certainly were not alone on the bay, but it remained quiet the entire time. We never heard parties going on, no crazy loud people or music. It was peaceful and quiet, for our 10 day stay on the bay.
The casitas are identical with the exception of the view. One has an unobstructed view of the beach and water. The other has the same view through lush tropical trees and plants. This one offers a little more privacy on the front porch due to the landscaping. Both are great in their own way. We ended up staying in both casitas and cannot say we favored one over the other. Accommodations in the casitas are roomy but cozy and perfect for two. Everything you want in the kitchen is supplied with the exception of a microwave. We did not miss having this appliance. Two good size grocery stores in Tulum made our shopping easy.
We had soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. If you care for a hair blow dryer, bring one! Bathroom is good size with attached outdoor( and completely private) large tiled shower. Very cool!
Super comfy king bed sits a couple steps up from the living room, kitchen and bath. Several wooden louvered and screened openings (similar to windows) keep a constant breeze flowing. They can be closed and locked in position if you so desire. Three ceiling fans offer circulation. We were always very comfortable without air conditioning. As reviews state, it's really hard to tear yourself away from this property to go touring. We wanted to soak up this place as much as possible! Caretakers are very kind and helpful. We were fortunate to meet their family during our stay. An adorable family full of smiles and sweetness. The extra bonus during our stay was spending precious time with the owners and family members. This made for wonderful memories at Nahuxibal.
Soliman Bay is not a hotel resort area even though there is one very small hotel with a restaurant at the entrance. Down the road is also a very small mini mart
that is convenient. The rest of the bay offers private homes, many that serve as vacation rentals. It is a remote area away from the highway. 24 hour private security is provided and we felt completely safe day and night. No problems at all. Security is posted at the entrance and is available if needed. They are very kind and friendly. They become accustomed to your coming and going and wave you on through. We really appreciated their presence.
Guests leave a variety of things behind. You may have sunscreen and lotions, a few groceries or even alcohol. Don't count on anything in particular! The caretakers, Javier and Victoria are available for you but they are far from obtrusive. They respect your privacy but love to talk with you too! Their daughter Aricelli is a sweetheart and is seen helping her parents care for the property. They supplied us with a few items for our first breakfast. A nice touch! Mimi, the bays' public relations ambassador will be your best friend if you want her around! She is a special, friendly and loving pup!
We were fortunate to find and book Nahuxibal. No more Cancun hotels/resorts for us. This place spoils you if your desire is relaxation, fun, natural beauty and a peaceful stay. Booking was easy and secure. Jeanette was very prompt and helpful with the booking process as well as answering my questions. There is a special wonderful feeling you get at Nahuxibal that you just can't get at a hotel/resort. Don't hesitate, book now and experience a slice of paradise!

My husband and I and our daughter and her boyfriend had the ultimate time at Nah Uxibal. The kayaking was amazing. Saw lots of fish and even an octopus one day. The water is crystal clear and snorkeling around the bay.is easy both for the beginner and the avid snorkeler. Nah Uxibal is very close to Talum, and we enjoyed sitting in the local cafe's (very authentic) and eating lunch or drinking a margarita. We have been to Cancun many times in the last 13 years and this was by far our favorite place!

We stayed here with two other couples, we had the main house and a studio downstairs. Loved the house, the private beach and its simplicity. This location was perfect for secluded relaxing days on our beach, day trips into Tulum beach, grocery, cenotes. We couldn't have asked for better care takers, very attentive, friendly, kind people that went out of their way for us. A car is a must like others have said, we had no problems and having traveled extensively through Mexico and Central America I felt very welcomed and safe both in the bay as well as Tulum town, great great hidden gem! Yes, the birds are loud, there is seaweed and sometimes the wind blows strong, if these things bother you then I'm not sure this is the spot for you, stick to the mega-resorts. We also became good buddies with Mimi the dog, a perk for us but again not everybody's cup of tea...

We spent 2 nights in Casa Ik. The casa is right on the beach, which we loved. The sea and beach are beautiful here. We really enjoyed the property's proximity to Tulum. Tulum offers the ruins, lots of shopping, restaurants, etc. We also enjoyed dinner at Sahara Restaurant on Soliman Bay - highly recommend. We did think the casa needed some additional cleaning. The swimming pool was dirty, actually gross, and we were too concerned to enter the pool - a little disappointing since we were looking forward to doing so. There is a lot of sea grass in the water off the beach here - not a real big fan of that. The property's proximity to the Cancun airport is also a plus.
