“Great area, but rocky beach”
Review of Tankah Beach

Tankah Beach
Reviewed 22 March 2013

We stayed in a home here and loved the area. The private road access is a plus while the speed bumps are a pain!
While the area is very nice with lovely existing homes and many under construction, the beach is very rocky. It makes for nice tide pools for shelling and exploring, but nothing in the way of walking on the sand.

One of the best afternoons I've had was in this beautiful beach, a very lonely one but with a special charm.
The beach is connected to the exit of a cenote at Parque Tankah and you can feel the combination with the cold water from the cenote and the warmth from the mexican caribbean sea.
Don't hesitate on visiting this place!

Sandy part of the beach was fairly narrow around Blue Sky. The beach gives way to a rather jagged rocky shoreline just past the lap of the waves. Not great for bathing or floating...but there are some tropical fish and corals see around the rocks.

We have rented a house on Tankah Beach for one week in August. The beach is gorgeous, white sand, palm trees only a few people. And just opposite the Casa Cenote there is a cenote where you can go snorkelling or scuba diving. We really hope to come back one day!

Right by the Casa Cenote sign there is a cenote in the back that is very cool. Not as many fish as good salt water spots but unique rock formations and fresh water fish. There are few spots to rest as the mangoves go to the edge so you might want a floatation device if you are not a great swimmer. You can rent stuff there. The cenote flows underground to out front in the ocean. Beach is rocky but it is very unique as the fresh water blows the smaller salt water fish around like there are in the wind. Angel fish blowing in the wind. Only place I have ever seen this type of thing. Like a comedy fish show under water.
