My wife and I stayed here recently for a wedding party. The hotel and grounds look stunning. Despite being an old building everything in the main areas is maintained to a high standard and spotlessly clean. We ate in the bar in the evening and had breakfast in the morning. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious and clean however this has not been updated as recently as the main hotel but still good quality. One small downside is that there is no built in air conditioning but they do provide a mobile unit which is a little noisy. This isnt a great problem though as due to the very quiet setting you can sleep with the windows open on those very few days in the UK when the weather is that good. There is also free wifi throughout the hotel which was a good speed. The only downside to the hotel is the pool and the gym. Neither of which are really worth the visit. The gym is small with a few weights and a treadmill and the pool is pretty small and a little dingy. Good for a relaxing wallow but not good for swimming. Also the advertised Sauna was not on the day we visited. All in all a good quality hotel with good setting, staff and food and I would stay again.

We booked last minute for a one night stay for a quick get away. The room was spacious with a comfy bed. We enjoyed the large garden as the weather was great and there were deck chairs dotted around to make use of as well as a croquet area and a large chess board!
Staff were friendly and helpful all round and the included breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend!

We booked Royal Berkshire based on its location which is ideal for Ascot Racecourse. We arrived to the hotel early, we were unable to check in to out room but they kindly took our bags and part checked us in so we could simply collect key after racing. Reception were friendly and helpful, kindly called a taxi for us.
We returned early evening and collected our key and got our room. The room was dated but clean. There was a mobile fan unit in the room which we promptly turned on as the room was extremely hot!
The bar staff were good and bar menu what you would expect. Food was fine, nothing memorable.
On returning to our room, the Wedding disco had begun which we could clearly hear from our room. This combined with the heat made for a less than relaxing evening.
Breakfast was fine. Again nothing memorable. Staff were attentive. The hotel public areas and grounds are beautiful.
We checked out and all in all it was a good stay. We were not impressed that after one week the hotel still had a hold on our card for the security deposit after we settled up all expenses with cash on checkout! Our credit card company advised us to speak direct to hotel which we did and the next day it was released...8 WORKING DAYS AFTER CHECKOUT!

My friend and her 3 year old son thought we would meet for a catch up and spot of afternoon tea at the Royal Berkshire hotel and I couldn't rave about it more. From the amazing raspberry macaroons (my favourite) to the smoked salmon finger sandwiches nothing could be faulted, particularly the price all for £16.95 per person!

After speaking with the very attentive waitress we were astonished to find out that all of the pastries and cakes were made in-house by their pastry chef.

We were lucky enough to have sunshine all afternoon and proceeded to take our tea out to the terrace, looking over the well kept gardens where children were happily playing. The hotel is welcoming to all guests, both couples and families with enough room for all parties to have the privacy they require. I can't believe that I haven't stumbled across this ascot gem before and would highly recommend to all to come and visit.

The experience from start to finish has enticed me to book and Dinner Bed and breakfast stay with my partner, who I'm certain will love it as much as me.

We stayed here the night before we flew out from Heathrow airport and chose this hotel as it is close by and was much cheaper than the other airport hotels where you had to pay extra to park your car for one night.

Very comfortable room.
Great Reception service.
Lovely breakfast.
Very good value -£89 for one night on a Monday

We'd definitely use this hotel again if flying out of Heathrow early the next day.

We booked into this hotel for a special weekend. At the time of booking, this was mentioned to the front desk. One of our party did not get her allocated room as this room had not been cleaned by mid afternoon, so was re-scheduled to another room. Our room was ready and this was clean and tidy. The windows are fixed open by around 6 inches, so difficult to get any air in the room. It was very hot in the room although there was a fan. We had dinner in the hotel, the food was good but expensive. The waiting staff, although very friendly appear to be lacking in basic training on waiting on tables. This was also apparent at breakfast the following morning. Breakfast was excellent. Perhaps not the place to go for a special weekend.
