We just spent two nights here with our young kids and it was just brilliant. The apartments are big and amazing - I loved the indoor/outdoor living spaces, I have never had a balcony so big. They were spotless and I loved the thorough servicing. The mattresses and linen are great. There was a walk in wardrobe for the main room which was big enough for us to set up our travel cot for our baby in there!!
The pool is fantastic especially with little ones. Very big with a huge area for little kids. There's a little toddler playground as well. The breakfast is fantastic and it's opposite the beach and very close to the center of Las Terrenas. The location could not be better. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back or East wings. There was a bit of noise in the west wing where we were f...

We live in Santo Domingo and have taken 6 mini vacations to Las Terrenas in 2013. Albachiara Hotel is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Las Terrenas. The management team is hands on, attending to every detail. Location is fanastic as are the hotel amenities. The only negative are the TVs which are in dire need of
an upgrade. It is our understanding that new TVs are planned for all 53 rooms in early 2014. This is the only negative point we found at this establishment.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days and were so impressed with the cleanliness, guest service, safety and proximity to beaches and the town of Las Terrenas. The rooms have kitchenettes in them, a porch, family room and bedroom, perfect for relaxed stays. The owners take customer service very seriously. The morning breakfasts are delicious, served with kindness, and with great views of the ocean. Highly recommend!

Even prior to arriving the crew was so helpful & friendly in our exchanges via email!!!! Upon our arrival the crew exhibited the same warmth! The apart-hotel is located in a super convenient location: within walking distance to many bars, restaurants and for every day needs: supermarkets! The beach is quiet, with not much traffic. We were lucky enough to visit other room sizes (ours was a 1BR) and they are all spacious and comfortable. This is definitely where we will be staying on future trips to Las Terrenas! :)

Having checked out The Sublime & the Alisei, we finally selected this hotel as we were offered a Two Bedroom apartment with a great huge terrace on the second floor for only $20 more a night than the Alisei large room.
The breakfast fruit plate was the best I have ever encountered , with eggs any way you want cooked to order.
Although there was some traffic noise and the backdrop of music from the bar about 300 metres away , it is in the middle of the action and with all the best restaurants only a short walk away.
The staff are all great & full of smiles. ( a little Spanish helps)

Room Tip: Go for the two bedroom unit . if independent, remember cash is king

We drove through many different parts of Las Terrenas, and not even once we were envious about how others lived.

Both me and my girl friend (who became my fiancee on the 2nd day :-) ) dislike all-inclusive-vacations, but prefer silent, unspoiled destinations. Even if Las Terrenas is quite turistic, everything turns very silent and harmonic when you turn into the street where Albachiara is located.

Staff is wonderful and very polite, breakfast simple and delicious with a wonderful sea view and appartments neat and clean with wonderful oppertunities to cook in your kitchen. Beach in front of the hotel is absolutely stunning.

In total, an extremely pleasant visit with rates pr. night that are very fair compared to the obtained value.

Make sure you go to El Limon Waterfall. Stunning trip on horse back - staff was very polite to book the trip (100$ for transport, trip and lunch - 2 * 40$ tip for our guides)

My daughter and I stayed here after a week of 'roughing it' and we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is family owned & operated, a rarity these days and the staff and service reflected this personal care. All of the employees give the sort of service that by and large is a thing of the past. attentive, no job 'boundaries', they help with whatever you need help with, even when its not 'their job'. The grounds and pool are very well tended, the is is a pet peeve of mine and they do an outstanding job here with out creating the constant noise and distraction that comes from over maintenance with power equipment. The breakfast is delicious. The rabbits who tend the grounds are a sweet touch. The rooms are well designed, comfortable, spacious and easy to live in for short or longer periods. We had room 14, poolside, ground floor. Loved it. Honestly only one criticism and that was an extremely annoying frog who chirped constantly outside my bedroom window - how this frog could carry on for so many hours is... well, beyond me. I know, if I used air-conditioning, I could have drowned him out but I love sleeping with windows open and no AC. This frog's 'song' is not the sort of pleasing little chirp you get from a tree frog, it's more like a squeaky garden gate. I am a nature lover but seriously, I was ready to hunt him down. Anyway, don't let that frog, or anything else for that matter, stop you from staying at this gem of a hotel.

Room Tip: I enjoyed having a room on the ground floor, poolside, felt like home, with the pool just steps away...
