We stayed for just the one night in the riverside cabin. Which was nice and modern (as I read previous they were outdated) the rooms are simple, but you're not there to sit in your room.
The restaurant is AMAZING and the staff and service was also amazing. We had lunch and dinner. Also went on the helicopter which was worth every cent. Amazing part of the world, and the gorges are all close by and worth trekking to

We stayed for two nights while on the Gibb River Road. Not quite the luxury you expect for $400 night on a site that was a station in name only. The advertised bar meals didn't exist and were told to try and get into the restaurant if we were lucky.
The restaurant was quite good and the country side excellent .The booking service has to go through their head office in New York and is sub standard.

We stayed for 5 nights in a Riverview Bunglaow which we found to be more than adequate & comfortable for our stay. It was lovely to be able to sit out on the deck & we could leave our sliding doors open each night so we could hear the water flowing in the river.
We ate at the Steakhouse two nights, but due to the lack of GF options (I am coeliac) we opted to drive to Emma Gorge resort as they have a wonderful restaurant there with more choice & a larger range of GF options. I will say I was disappointed with the steakhouse meal options as everything seems to come with their own version of bubble & squeak that leaves a bit to be desired & after the wonderful meals we had experienced at other remote locations, I expected more.
We did the Explosion Gorge/Branco's lookout tour with Vinnie & thoroughly enjoyed it. Vinnie was amazing & made it a very interesting experience with his vast knowledge of native Flora & Fauna.
The Chamberlain Gorge Cruise was fantastic & feeding the fish added to the experience.
The majority of the staff were good but some could do with some more customer service training to be reminded that we are paying guests & not an inconvenience.

Good camping, nice showers, friendly staff, good area to explore nature, a lot of activities to do. Bar with live music during the week, happy hour for cheaper beer, souvenir store, wifi available (must pay for it). Nice 2 nights there!

I have very mixed feelings about El Questro The Station. It looked like we had arrived at a circus when we first pulled into The Station. There were people, caravans and campers everywhere. I had to wait a long time, in the hot sun in a very long queue to check in. The reception area is small and there was only two staff on duty to deal with all the day trippers as well as those wishing to stay. We booked a private camp site which was definitely the best option for us. The main camping area was very crowded. The down side of the private site, we were over 5 kms to a shower and had to drive in each night for a shower. We did however have an eco toilet close by. I have to say it was the cleanest eco toilet I have been in. Spotless is the word that comes to mind. We explored almost all the gorges and yes they were all gorgeous. Zabedee Springs are stunning. We managed to find a spot in amongst the crowds. I was a little freaked by the leaches so we didn't stay long in the water. We booked the tour to Explosion Gorge. So glad we took this option as there was no way we were taking our car over that river crossing. The boulders are tire shredders and diff breakers. Glenn our driver and guide was one of the best parts of the trip. He was full of knowledge that he shared with a good dose of humour. The sunset over Brankos Gorge with a glass of bubbly was a nice finish to the day. The Steakhouse Restaurant was a huge disappointment. We booked dinner for our last night as a special treat. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by all the staff and shown to a table with great views to the river. The experience then went down hill from there. We ordered the station damper with dip for entree. Almost an hour later it arrived. We thought they must have been making the damper from scratch as it took so long to come. Nope it was reheated damper, sort of fried off. Still good but not outstanding. Then followed another incredibly long wait for our main. After an hour even the very busy wait staff commented on the long wait. Finally our char grilled salmon arrived. It was very char grilled. My husbands was so charred it was breaking off in chunks, burnt chunks. My salmon was so over cooked I couldn't even cut it. Upon complaining our meals were taken away and we were offered the menu to re order. By this time we had been in the restaurant 2 hours, were tired and over the experience. We just wanted to leave. We did accept the complimentary dessert. So in a nut shell, yes we will go to Elquestro again. We will stay in a private camp site slightly closer to the station, visit all the gorges again as they are stunning and not visit the restaurant again.
