“Peppers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

Peppers is a really good location if you are thinking beach wise but it is also really close from where i live but the only thing is the cleaning it is 2:30pm in the afternoon and my room still hasn't been cleaned! The buffet breakfast gets a bit boring after awhile and the season restaurant could have less posh menu.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the basement level or near reception because you are closer to the pool.

We had friends stay here before and had enjoyed the pool with them previously so decided to book for our 3rd trip to Palm Cove. I was quite disappointed to enter the room on the first day of our 8 day trip and see the tired and seemingly uncared for 3 bedroom ocean view suite. The furniture and fixtures were scratched and stained including the cushioning on the couch which leaves you not fully being able to relax. The couch and bed were not comfortable for lounging around as we were keen to do. We paid a premium to have the room serviced daily (given I do this daily in my home I was looking forward to a break and having the room serviced for us) but again I was very disappointed at the level of cleaning done - basins weren't wiped down on several occasions and benches weren't wiped down in the kitchen. The floors in the bathroom weren't swept either on several days. Overall for the money we paid - I was really disappointed in the room. That being said - the level of service by the reception desk/concierge and staff in general was excellent - they were very accommodating and pleasant to deal with and friendly and we enjoyed a few tours recommended by the staff. The pool also was great with 3 older children who especially enjoyed it - although yet again - when sitting down at the pool chairs in the afternoon we often could only find seats that had other people's left over glasses/food which hadn't been cleaned up. I think if they did a bit of a revamp and improved the standards of cleanliness they would be on to a complete winner with this resort. As it stands I'm not overly keen to return.

My girlfriends and I (in our 50's) booked two 2BR Lagoon View apartments for the weekend. The apartments were modern, clean, spacious, quiet and each bedroom had an ensuite. There was a full kitchen with a microwave and dishwasher and a laundry in one of the bathrooms. The pool is absolutely beautiful with a swim-up bar and is perfect for families with young children as it has a sandy 'beach' along one side. Buffet breakfast was included in our tariff and was of a high standard. One thing people should be aware of is there are no lifts in the resort and each wing is three floors high. You either have to carry your own bags up a few flights of stairs or let the hotel porter do it (which we did). Peppers is a luxury resort - we loved this place and will be going back!

Room Tip: Lagoon View rooms are quieter Underground carpark ramp is very steep

I really liked this hotel. Stayed in a suite with the kids, pool was great, tennis court gym etc all really nice. But.....

But what would it take not to have the cheapest terrible pillows. Asked for a softer pillow and got another rubbish but differently shaped pillow. Have recently stayed in other peppers resorts and they had brilliant pillows. Can really spoil your holiday if you can't sleep well.

We recently stayed here for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved the resort pools and bar but wasn't blown away by the room we stayed in. The fan above our bed was rusty and all bent and floppy, the furniture was very run down, we couldn't get in to use the bedroom cupboards as they were blocked by the bedside tables, there were tiny insects EVERYWHERE and it didn't match up with the previous 5star accommodation that we stayed in. The staff were generaly very lovely, and we were welcomed with champagne and a chocolate/bottle of water each but the breakfast staff made me feel like I was a pain in their behind being gluten free. It made me feel very uneasy. The food was very nice though, really enjoyed breakfast! Just felt awkward when having to ask any gf questions.

Great relaxing hotel. Good accommodation. We stayed in the serenity section which was quiet and good if traveling without kids. Lagoon pool was lovely. Breakfast was ok but not fantastic. Nice view overlooking the beach. We were in a one bedroom apartment. Very spacious. It was nice if you wanted a night in you could BBQ on your patio. A supermarket for meat not close by so an order online with Coles or woollies a good option as they deliver to the door. Great break. We will be back.

Love this place! Pools, cocktails and food is amazing but expensive. Buffet breakfast was lovely and the service was very friendly and helpful. The only negative is the cleanliness of the rooms. Our balcony was dirty and there was a huge build up of dust on the shutters and fans and the vent in the bathroom. I noticed the same last time we stayed. The rooms were however mad up by room service daily in a very timely manner.

Room Tip: Ocean view room very peacful but we prefer the pool view room as there is a better atmosphere when s...
