This was our second stay at Searene Whitsundays and it is amazing. Fully self contained room, and has all the cooking utensils included :)

Amazing views from both rooms!! The spa on the balcony, you can sit in for hours on end taking in the amazing scenery. Def recommend

Well, the apartment weren’t bad, but weren’t luxury either. The room layout was far from the best, the kitchen was just in front of the bed, the TV far from any good sitting place. And if you have a full kitchen, how is possible not to have any table and/or chairs? So consequently the only way to eat in the apartment was in the floor.
Besides this, our apartment had and extra in the price for having a spa. Great! no dinning table but a spa. And when we tried to enjoy it we found out that the temperature couldn’t be changed and it was fixed at 40º!! You couldn’t stand in the water more than 1 minute.
These two “problems” were totally bearable, but the note we had in the room as welcoming message was totally insulting. Instead of some instructions about how should be the apartment left (clean, etc.) it seemed more a threat, assuming that the room wasn’t going to be left in perfect conditions. Totally offensive, really. We spent one month travelling along Australia, we stayed in 12 different accommodation and the staff in every of them was lovely, efficient and very nice. But in these apartments… With the variety of options in this gorgeous country I would never go to these apartments.

We stayed in a executive apartment with all the mod cons including spa balcony.Beautiful views, modern, and clean. Trouble was the spa didn't work, quite a large component of a spa balcony apartment . Surely when they turned on the pump to clean the spa that morning after previous guests, it would have been obvious it was not working. A refund of $20.00 a night, a token gesture in our opinion was to be refunded, still waiting!!!.Things breakdown it's unavoidable, disappointing but that's how it goes sometimes. But what makes a business stand out in the crowd ( lots of apartments in Airlie) is CUSTOMER SERVICE. You be the judge.

Stayed here for 4 nights in July in a balcony studio for just $160/night.

The good:
- jacuzzi on the balcony
- amazing view
- kitchen facilities - stove top, microwave, basic utensils
- plenty of towels provided

The bad:
- ants on the balcony which went into the rooms - but they did provide a can of insecticide
- the water boiler was rusty at the bottom
- quite a steep hill up to the apartment - but we didn't find it too much of a burden - nice to get a bit of exercise

But overall amazing value.

We have just returned from a two week trip to the Whitsundays and Cairns and stayed for 5 nights in Searene apartments. We stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom executive apartment with balcony jacuzzi which was just beautiful. The bedrooms were at opposite ends of the unit which was nice as we were two couples travelling together, and so we each got our own privacy. There was plenty of living space with a good sized kitchen. Laundry facilities were located behind cupboard doors in the second bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the complex was very quiet whilst we were there.

We learnt quickly that it is OK to walk into town, but much better to get a taxi to get back to the unit. The hill is very steep but it means that you don't hear the noise from town at night when the bars are cranking and the young 'uns are having a great time. We didn't see any hooligans, and it just added to Airlie's atmosphere.

We ate our meals on the balcony overlooking the town and the islands, and enjoyed the company of the white cockatoos in the mornings which would land on our balcony before soaring off over the valley again. We didn't see any staff whilst there but that wasn't a problem as we had our instructions for getting the key etc with us. This is an apartment complex not a hotel with restaurant etc, so we didn't expect any service as such.

All in all, we would definitely consider it again if we return to this area.

My husband and I stayed at Searene Apartments for our honeymoon in Airlie Beach in Oct 2010. We had shopped around for a more luxurious type of accomodation (i.e. with hotub) that didn't cost the earth. That is exactly what we got. Apartments were lovely and quiet and views gorgeous. Hot tub was brilliant!!

The apartment we had was spacious, clean and with nice finishings and everything we needed to eat in and relax. The owners had locked the second bedroom as there was just two of us. There was a tv, washing machine and dryer. Perfect.

One note of caution....when we arrived we went to the reception, but there was nobody there and it was locked up. This pretty much remained the case for the rest of our stay. We had no idea how to get into our room and had no choice but to wait around for someone to ask. Not great after a 28 hour journey! We eventually bumped into someone who directed us to the apartment caretaker who helpfully managed to sort this out (though I don't think it was really his responsibility!). It transpired that the owners had sent us an e-mail with details of getting in to the key safe at reception, but we hadn't received it as we had been travelling for two days. The impression I got was that most of the apartments were privately owned as "weekenders" or actually peoples home.

Airlie itself was a good base to relax or do the trips to great barrier reef etc. If you do one thing in Airlie, go get a mud crab dinner at Fish D'Vine. Amazing!

What an amazing unit. We have traveled extensively and this would have to be up there as the best.....
We had 20a \ 20b which we booked throught Whitsunday Holidays.. The unit was spotless with modern upmarket comfortable furniture. There has been no expense spared on these units and alot of thought put into the design ..Our caretaker Boyd ,the owners and the girls from Whitsunday Holidays went out of there way to make our stay perfect..Very accomodating and hassle free.
The unit has everything you could want.. It was perfect for our large family as my eldest is 19 and youngest is 4, the main unit was huge , we also had a connecting room with its own kitchenette and bathroom which meant we all had space.
One thing I loved about this unit is it has carpet in the lounge ,dining and bedrooms. Carpet makes it so much more comfortable than tiles everywhere ...It had three balconies all with amazing views, one huge balcony with a jacuzzi and views overlooking the water and the mountains, just magic... We dont normally stay at the same place twice as we like to try different places but we will be back here again for sure. PERFECT, RELAXING AND DONT WANT TO LEAVE....

Recommend highly..
Colour me crazy... Proserpine
Ecco Jetski Safari ...fantastic day out and worth every cent.. Great hosts, great food and a really family fun day for all ages.
Fish D'vine ....great food and service..hassle free if you have to split the bill as you order \pay at the bar..
Deja Vu on the waters edge..beautiful long lunch...
Easy Cafe...fresh food
Whitsunday seafoods.. best ever chips..

Dont reccommend...
Hogs breath, slack service, hot - no air conditioning, very very ordinary food compared to other Hog Breaths.. Never will return..
