Big hostel but poor 1st impression when 'free pick up' from Greyhound didn't transpire. Turns out the driver had gone AWOL when I was there. Pool average only. Not very inspiring. Good atmosphere. Had evening at 'The shed' sausage sizzle with drink only $5 that evening. Stayed in female dorm. Hooks on back of door right at top and being only 5ft 4 I couldn't reach it..small point I know, but it's nice to hang your stuff without getting it wet in the shower.

Having stayed in Nomads Noosa my expectations were very low for
this hostel so I was pleasantly surprised to find it is actually very good.

I stayed in an 8 bed dorm with ensuite which was clean, comfortable and spacious.

The kitchen area was good but you had to hire any utensils, cutlery etc from reception which was a little annoying.

The hostel had a nice communal area near reception but this closed at 9. It would be a good idea to keep this open longer.

The staff were very friendly and happy to help but shop around for tours etc. Nomads do offer some
good ones but the staff will aim
to sell you what they offer rather than give you impartial advise on this best available.

Overall I had a good stay here and would certainly stay again.

No free Wifi, Reception isn't open before 7am and after 9 pm, many Ants and a Huntsmanspider in our room, dirty sheets on bed!
But the location is good. Anyways no recommendation for this hostel. Better go to XBase or Backpackers in the Bay. I only heard good things about those

We were booked to stay at nomads through a travel agent that booked our tour. The place is clean enough and well located with a nice pool however, it is so unorganised and you are just treated as a number. Check in at 7am (when a bus load of people come in) had 1 person so it was an hour to get to our room; but this was lucky as most had to wait until 1pm. Then there was the kitchen.. We left our food there whist we went on a Whitsunday's trip only to find that we had to throw most of it away when we got back as I've never seen so many ants in my life; the answer we got was "ants will do that". Then we got locked out of the room for an hour as the door ran out of battery and everyone was too "busy" to help us. Finally they are big on telling you that you can't have alcohol past the point of reception but not so keen to tell you that reception doesn't open until 7am therefore if your on the 7am bus you can't get it back because if you get it the night before they will come and take it off you (we saw this happen) so overall not the worst place in terms of location and cleanliness but we left very annoyed..

We stayed here for 4 nights, we had cockroackes, a fly infestation, people walking into our room having been double booked, made complaints about noisy neigbours, unprofessional staff who assured me that cockroaches are the norm!? not when you are paying for a double private room at hotel prices. Yes it's primarily a backpackers but then why try to cater to the older travellers who want privacy, comfort and an undisturbed nights sleep? There was 1 gentleman member of staff who was willingly efficient and made sure he helped us whichever way he could. We made a complaint due to the unsafe conditions of the kitchen, they cram people into dorm rooms and just don't have the space in one kitchen to accommodate the needs of everyone. The dials on the cookers have rubbed off so you can't see the temp your cooking, last resort was people having to test the hobs using their hand. Health and safety issue much!?!? My advice would be to go to any of the other backpackers on the strip, they couldn't be any worse than Nomads. Will be sharing pictures of the unwelcome insects when have availability to a computer.

Room Tip: Away from reception and the bar if you want to sleep and not hear teenagers puking at 3am!

Hello, Thank you for taking the time during your travels to let us know what you thought of your stay. We of course make sure all our rooms are clean and when you were explained about life in the tropics and all the animals/insects that come with it, that was not us fobbing you off but it is (especially on a 7.5acre 'bush' property) the norm to see snakes, spiders, cockroaches and other wildlife on our property. When you came to tell us about this cockroach, I explained what it is like in the tropics (something I learned when I moved here 4yrs ago), I also got someone to go with you to remove said cockroach (which had vanished when she got there) I also assured you I would give you a one night refund (which you don't mention here) You say you paid hotel prices for a hostel, You paid $88 for a private double room, a hotel price in Airlie Beach for a private double rooms go from $125 per night. We apologise that someone walked into your room due to 'overbooking' this is one that needs to be looked into as we can't check anyone into our system if the room is already booked, it simply does not allow us to. Thanks again for letting us know and we hope you enjoy the rest of the tropics and all it has to offer....

Pretty good value, and everything you need is there. It's Airlie so you can't guarantee it will be quiet, or that the younger travllers will fully clean the kitchen when theyre done, but I've gone back here several times when in Airlie. They could use a night guard at the gate as too many locals try to sleep in rooms when they've had too much too drink and cant drive home.

We stayed here for three nights in there camping site which was a little area of grass which sloped downhill which wasn't ideal for camping. The showers were all in a block and where very basic some of the doors didn't shut properly and not all the lights worked. The reason I gave it three stars is that the location is fantastic, you are so close to all the bars.

Hello, Thanks for letting us know how your stay went. You are correct about the camp showers and toilets, now that we are one of the busiest hostels in Airlie Beach we are working on upgrading these toilets due to the amount of use they now get. This is something that we are working on and hope they will be the best camp toilets ever.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
