I took a sailing trip with them, though there was not much sailing, they just drive via motor. The boat is beautiful, the food good, the snorkel spots weren' t the best, but ok.

Biggest problem is that there were, i guess 35-40 people on board, and there is not very much pace to sit. It was just too crowded. If there had been less people, it would have been much better.

I had a wonderful time sailing aboard the Derwent Hunter! We got to visit some secluded beaches, snorkel over the reef (some people even saw turtles!), and we also enjoyed a delicious meal together aboard the ship. The captain and crew were very friendly and they were full of fun facts and anecdotes. If you're looking to experience the Whitsundays but you only have one day to do so, I would highly recommend this sailing trip!

We had the best day, the crew went above and beyond expectations with the kids (aged 5 & 9 yrs). The kids got to dress as pirates and to help pull the sails up. The snorkelling was good the kids gave it a go then spent time floating in the water or playing in the sand. The food was excellent there was something for all of us which was great having a picky eater. I had such a relaxing day not having to worry about the kids, again BIG thanks to the crew for looking out for the kids making sure they had a good time so I could enjoy the day as well.

We had a wonderful day with Derwenter Hunter. Crew was awesome and the food really delicious. Drinks in cans can be bought for only 2,50 aud. Snorkelling spots were great and we could sknorkel around one hour on each spot.
Thank you for this lovely day!

What a lovely day we had on The Derwent Hunter. She is such a beautiful ship, and we feel privileged to have been for a sail on her.
The bus pick up was right on time as was the transfer to Abel Point Marina, where we were greeted by the enthusiastic Jo, to welcome us and take us down to the boat.
Once on board, as we were clearing the harbour the crew took us through a safety talk and showed us 'the ropes'. We had about 20 people on our sail, so there was plenty of room on board to walk around the decks.
On the sail out, Skipper Josh was a hoot and told us a bit of the history of the boat while we had morning tea and biscuits. (Very civilised!)
The crew encouraged you to help out with the sails etc and my husband was all too eager to get involved!!

We had good conditions and Langford Reef, the first stop for snorkelling was a paradise island on the outer barrier reef. We saw loads of fish, fantastic fluorescent coral and others saw turtles but we didn't unfortunately.
Then back on the boat for another sail to Bali Hai (Black Island) where we were taken by the tender to go snorkelling again.
On our sail back to Airlie a late lunch was served which was a Smogasborg and there was lots to choose even for a veggie!
Just before getting back to the harbour tea was served with Brownies and fruit.
It was, overall, a great day trip
Derwent Hunter Rocks (literally)!!
