I had such a great time celebrating with friends on the Derwent Hunter. We met some really nice people and the crew were great too. Captain Josh made sure I felt special with yummy gluten free cookies and even some bubbles to celebrate. Couldn't have asked for a better day but maybe next time there'll be some wind so we can really go sailing!

Fantastic snorkelling outing aboard the Derwent Hunter. Skipper and crew both very profession and accommodating. Excellent safety briefing and informative talks about the history of the ship, the Whitsunday Islands, coral and fish. Everyone who went into the water got to see lots of coral, fish and, to the delight of all, sea turtles. Fantastic! After everyone was out of the water for the day we were able to buy drinks at reasonable prices and enjoy a terrific buffet (included in the price) The only thing that would have made the day better was if there had been enough wind to sail instead of spending most of the time under motor. There were only about 22 tourists on board the day we went which made it super. More than this would make it a little crowed and not as much fun.

Spent a great day on board the Derwent Hunter, sailing from Airlie Beach. The crew made sure we were well catered for, food on board was lovely. The two sites chosen for snorkelling were superb - Black Rock and Langford Spit. Whilst off Langford Spit we got to snorkel with turtles - highlight of my holiday. I would add that putting on the stinger suits wasnt the best experience - cold and wet. The group we had was a mix of nationalities and ages. The kids in the group were well catered for - pirate getup given out.

There isn't much I can add to all that has already been said in the good reviews here. But I can vouch that, despite what some bad reviews say, even a cruise on a cloudy-rainy day is still worth the while. If you want to take pictures, they won't look as nice, but the crew is amazing, they will distribute raincoats if needed, and you'll still have a blast.
- the ship is beautiful, really
- the crew is amazingly nice, all of them, and tha captain Josh is extremely knowledgeable about everything connected to sailing and about the history of his particular boat, and is more than happy to share that knowledge with everyone who asks
- food is quite decent, and plentiful
- the two snorkel dives are quite nice, lots to see, and the equipment is not too worn down
- the sailing is great, engine will be used to manoever into and out of port, but otherwise you'll get to help raise and fold the sails, etc. that's a great way to feel involved in the experience
- I personally found the sights impressive and beautiful during the cruise, and the spots visited are quite nice
If there was something bad to say, I must confess that I also consider that there are too many people on board. 10 less patrons would feel nicer.
That being said, I had a fantastic day, and so did all of the people we befriended on board.
My advice: go for it!

I took a sailing trip with them, though there was not much sailing, they just drive via motor. The boat is beautiful, the food good, the snorkel spots weren' t the best, but ok.

Biggest problem is that there were, i guess 35-40 people on board, and there is not very much pace to sit. It was just too crowded. If there had been less people, it would have been much better.
