we liked the place and the warm welcome we met here. the owners-managers were extremely positive and helpful.

mind the fact that it is unlikely to be able to eat after 8 pm - we arrived at 8.40 and the kitchen was already closed. it was not a disaster though - we had a great dinner in Fish D'vine recommended to us.

the place is a bit off the town center with a 15-20 minutes walk to the vibe

My wife and I booked in here due to its rating in the RACQ guide. We were not disappointed. From the first meeting with the host until check out, we were quite taken with the welcoming attitude of all the staff. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The free light breakfast was made even better by the attention of the chef, who could not do enough for us. We are planning to stay longer next time.

Myself and my girlfrined recently paid a flying trip to Airlie beach and stayed at the Colonial Palms Motor Inn. We were very pleased with this accommodation for a number of reasons. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained and although I didn't use the pool area, it looked well kept and nicely designed.

There are currently roadworks taking place along the main strip in Airlie Beach and when you couple that with some loud bars, the location of the motor inn a 5-10 minute walk from the town centre is ideal for some peace and quiet.

With that said, the most prominent plus with regard to this accommodation is the genuinely friendly and considerate staff who made our stay a treat. They were really approachable and facilitating and we couldn't have asked for better hosts.

The room was big, nice king size bed, nice showers, free-wifi was working good, rare free wifi in Australia.. Free breakfast , but not full buffet like some other places.but then again seems like free breakfast in Australia is a rare thing, . The staff was very helpful..good location 20 minutes walk to town, the pool seemed very nice but had debris , branches and leaves in it , when we were there, didn't feel like swimming in it. Car port to park your car.

We stayed for two nights and it was great.
The staff are the best, the room we had (family room for 3) was superb, very clean and spacious.
Breakfast is good, well organised with staff that want to help with a smile.
We asked to leave our bags securely at the hotel for two days as we were sailing round the Whitsunday Islands and we even asked to borrow some towels so we could take with us,nothing was too much.
I wish we had booked and stayed at the Colonial Palms in Sydney as well, next time we will.

Easy access to town, the beach, the lagoon; everything is within walking distance.
Good wireless internet.
Rooms were fairly clean and well maintained.
Parking is adequate.
The property is very quiet compared to the drunken show going on across the street at the Blue Horizon.
Breakfast at the restaurant is not varied but is adequate and served with a smile.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent and the service was personal and thoughtful.

This is not a 5 star property but the owners make up for whatever may be lacking in decor and creature comforts with their thoughfulness. They seem to take their positions seriously and were never too busy to help out or answer any questions we had.

We all come on a holiday for pretty well the same reasons, to relax, well at Colonial palms you will do just that. Ok maybe you won't completely see the ocean but you look out on a beautiful view of the inlet and overlook the untouched Australian land towards the bay of Shute Harbour. What we loved most about this comfortable clean, quiet retreat surrounded with palm trees was the family touch with the utmost care given to make sure you were welcomed and felt part of the Whitsunday's which they absolutely adore. Their team of ladies who take care of your rooms are delightful and will go out of their way to make your stay a happy one. Also please try the restaurant , you won't be disappointed , it's just top quality cooking at its best . Hope you give it a go xxxx

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view .
