“Great location”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

We stayed in a Coral Sea suite, a great room overlooking the ocean with a spa on the balcony. The room is well appointed, large, and comfortable.

We ate at the poolside Clipper restaurant for lunch, which was underwhelming. We weren't offered a wine list, which was disappointing.

We ate lunch at the Clipper too, which was outstanding. Great food, a good wine selection, and at a reasonable cost. Superb!

The hotel is very conveniently located - only a short walk into the town centre, and an even shorter walk around the boardwalk to the Abel Point Marina.

Only other disappointment was the breakfast. The included buffet was a "tropical" breakfast only - bread, cereals and fruit. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you needed to pay extra or order a la carte.

We stayed at Coral Sea resort for my daughters 16th birthday (myself, daughter, toddler son and niece) and we absolutely loved our time there, We had the bayview spa suite which had amazing views, spa the kids loved, and room was lovely and cool when we checked in (early!), We had the winter warmer package for 2 nights which included Degustation meals which were amazing, the only complaint was that we couldn't manage to eat our desserts as we were so full from the previous 5 courses! The reception, restaurant and room service staff were all lovely and accommodating and we even received a refund for our meals on the second night as we had not spent the quota. My kids loved the pool, we enjoyed watching the wedding reception on the wharf while we had dinner, We also utilised the Whitsunday nanny service so my daughter and I could enjoy a day at Endota Spa 5 mins from resort. I have recommended this resort to my sister who is getting married next year, just so I get a reason to come back!!

Room Tip: Excellent restaurant, food divine and cocktail 'Lost in the Whitsundays' highly recommended!

We have only ever stayed on the Whitsunday islands before, but decided to try the mainland. And we weren't disappointed. The resort is beautifully positioned, the staff are excellent and the food is first class. The big advantage is the easy access to all that Airlie has to offer. Highly comparable to but more convenient and less expensive than the island experience.

Best place to stay in Airlie Beach short walk to town, under cover parking, bus picks you up at the front and the guest service is great. The RESTAURANT is amazing the 2 chiefs are from England and all there meals are 5 star they also worked for Gordon Ramsay so they know there food. The view is breath taking ocean right there and we saw dolphins just at the front by the restaurant, the pool is super clean and they have water sports there and a boat called Ocean rafting that takes you snorkeling and to Whitehaven beach for the day and they won best day tour in Australia, so by staying at Coral Sea you can do nothing and relax by the pool or you can do watersports, parasailing, etc right from the hotel. I have been to Airlie Beach a few times this is the best place to stay caters for all your needs and location is the best.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are the best

We stayed in an Ocean View twin room for 5 nights. The room was clean and very lovely and the view would be hard to beat. The location was excellent as it was just a short and flat walk on the boardwalk (about 10mins) to the central area of Airlie Beach. We looked at a few of the other places I had seen on the internet but all of them were up the hill - which would have been quite a strenuous walk. It was very easy from the Coral Sea to walk into Town to get something to eat, or to go to the waterside pool park area. We would definitely stay at the Coral Sea again.

This was our second stay at Coral Sea Resort.
We stayed for 2 nights as 2 couples in the coral sea spa suites after 8 days of sailing. We requested an early check in, late check out, and rooms on the top floor overlooking the sea (and not the pool, as this can be noisy). All our requests were met by friendly and obliging staff. The rooms were clean. The buffet breakfast was fine. I am really surprised at previous negative reviews, as we found this hotel to be very nice with amazing views. We will stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Rooms that do not face the pool are quieter

We stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon in a Coral Sea Spa Suite. It was a fantastic room with a beautiful view. Spacious, a very very comfortable bed (thank you!), swivel tv, a large balcony with an awesome hammock and outdoor spa. The room service was also lovely food. Our only bit to be picky about was that there was no lift access to the suites. We did ask staff but they said we had to take our luggage up the stairs. The pool, restaurant, jetty & gardens were also lovely. Staff were friendly. As we had to leave quite early in the morning, staff brought our continental breakfast tray to our room the night before to place in the fridge. Cheers. We will recommend this hotel and enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Room Tip: You won't be disappointed paying good money for a spa suite.
