Our room had an amazing view. By far the best in Airlie! The location of the hotel is great . you get a 270 degree view of the bay and the balcony is really good. The room however was not a 4 star category at all. Our AC stopped working at night and had no cooling at all. The bed had WHEELS? so somehow if you sleep at one place at night you have a good chance that you might drag it to some corner of the room. Our studio was attached to another studio , so there was a strange door right next to our bed and that was quite irritating. Nice hotel for a budgeted travelers but those looking for luxury please look for other options!

Room Tip: Go for a higher floor.

Just returned from spending 5 nights here. Would not recommend it to anyone. The taps were covered in grime. There was mold on the ceiling. Cups & Glasses had be placed on the shelf unwashed. The Fridge/ Freezer still had remains of food in it from the last occupants. The lock on the balcony door could easily be opened from the outside. The only good thing about the apartment was the view.

Hi Laura,

Thank you for your feed back regarding your stay, I am verysorry that you did not enough your time with us and if I had known at the time I would have move you to another room. I have taken your comments very seriously have have closed off this room until we get it up to a much better standard. As all of our units are individually owned we ourselves try our very best to encourage owners to better maintain their units.. Your comments will also be passed on to the owner so that they can improve the standard of their unit if they continue to have in as a holiday unit.

I haven't been to this resort since 2009 and glad to hear that the Terraces is under new management. I can tell its been done up nicely and looks 100 times better. The rates were cheap as i remember which i was also glad to hear. The rooms are much better and modern, the room was great and clean with no hassles at all. Receptionists were great and very helpful. Had a great time.

Room Tip: Book cruises and all with reception

We spent five nights. The views very fantastic. The furniture in the room was old and worn out (lounge seat had a big dip in the middle, lounge itself in need of replacing). We had to defrost the freezer of the fridge (iced up +++). The taps in the bathroom and kitchen had a build up of grime + around them - just looked so dirty. The rooms smelt musty. The place was not cleaned properly - not sure what their standard of cleaning is. The parking was a nightmare. And to top it all off there were little ants roaming the bathroom and the kitchen.

As I stated previously if I am not informed that there is a problem with the room then I am unable to fix it.
If the rooms are not to cleaning standard please inform reception as soon as possible so that we can send the cleaners back,
I do thank you for your comments and will pass on about the couch to the unit owner

We stayed there for a few nights while in Airlie BEach and the flats are all clean and well-maintained, ideally situated 3 minutes away from the shops and all the restaurants. The hotel can also organize or book tours to the Great Barrier Reef and the staff is very nice, friendly and helpful !
There's a full kitchen so you really feel at home there. Car park is very convenient as well and there's free wifi in the lobby.
All the studios have a view on the sea. :-)

Firstly, this establishment is NOT a resort - it is better described as a motel, except that I have never stayed in a motel this disappointing.

LOCATION - the location is fairly close to the main shops and beach, but expect to walk up a fairly steep hill to get there. Most rooms seem to have an outlook to the water, but any view is ruined by the poor management and condition of the buildings and rooms.

RECEPTION/MANAGEMENT - on arrival, this place is a total let down, especially when paying $170 per night. Weekday reception person is in the wrong job; customer service is non existent. When I asked if I could talk to the manager about a problem with check-in, her reply was "No you can not". After we contacted our booking agent to complain, both the agent and reception indicated the manager would contact us before check-out. We are still waiting ...

GENERAL CLEANLINESS OF THE GROUNDS - they do not clean outside the rooms here. There were dried leaves, spider webs, cockroaches - generally unkept and dirty. It is a massive disappointment before even seeing the room.

ADDITIONAL COSTS - $25 added to your room account if you do not empty the garbage bin when you check out. Extra blankets, towels or pillows are a chargeable item. If you run out of toilet paper, coffee/tea/sugar sachets, you will be charged for these items. Rooms are not serviced on a daily basis - if your stay is more than 7 days, the room is serviced mid way through your stay.

Additional charges and rules are listed on a typed document in the kitchenette.

ROOM - small insects/ants in the bed, kitchen, bathroom. Damaged bedside light. Inadequate lighting in the room, especially if you want to read anything in the evening. Ceiling fan runs only at top speed. Carpets dirty - especially along skirting boards - where there was a massive build up of dust. Furniture is very old, balcony furniture was damaged.

Gap in the door frame leading to the balcony. Fly screens on balcony doors removed, which is a shame because there would be a nice breeze off the ocean in the evenings.

KITCHENETTE - was a disgrace. The cups, cutlery, kitchen utensils are not clean. This is a result of charging people if they do not clean up when they leave - most people will simply do a wipe down of the area, and the motel obviously does not employ cleaners to make sure the rooms are sanitary.

BATHROOM - old, worn and dirty taps, repairs were unprofessional, dead cockroach in light fitting, bathroom exhaust fan inoperable.

CAR PARKING - no allocated spaces, in my block I counted 10 usable car spaces for over 20 units. The overflow must park on the street, which also has limited parking.

Overall, I could not recommend this motel at all; The attitude of the management and staff, the lack of cleanliness of the room and the grounds of the motel, ruined our holiday at Airlie Beach. My recommendation would be to stay somewhere else.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Dear Sir,
I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us, firstly I have not been contracted by your agent regarding your stay and secondly I have spoken to the Receptionist that was on the day you checked in and also to the one that was on when you checked out. They both advised me that you did not ask to speak to the manager. I am more than happy for you to email at info@whitsundayterraces.com.au and I would be more than happy to respond to you in person as I believe there were issues at both ends on check in and some very choice words were said to my receptionist.

I had such a great time staying at the Terraces its such a lovely resort and the view from the balconies top it off. We arrived back from a long drive and the receptionist was lovely we got put into our room to relax with no hastle at all. The Terraces is just metres from everything we spent most our time either at the public pool down the road or the pool at the resort for the restaurant and view. Our room was nice with 2 single beds, clean bathroom and everything. Was the perfect place to stay for Summer.
