We used this lovely walkway to go from Airlie Beach to the Canonvale food shops, which are far cheaper than Airlie Beach. Although part of the walk is through a residential area, I would certainly recommend it instead of a taxi between Airlie and Abel Point.

A nicely maintained walkway, primarily at the waters edge, then through parks with a nice man made lagoon, with swimming pools. Pleasant way to get from the Marina into town. There are drinking fountains en route.....it can get hot and humid !!!

Boardwalk from Airlie Lagoon to Cannonvale Beach, just over three kms. Mostly by the sea, goes through the marina and the newly developed botanical gardens. There are amenities along the way, toilets and water. In the evening between the Coral Sea Resort and Airlie Lagoon the lighting is non-existent which is not good. In the other direction the lighting is better.

The Bicentennial walkway is largely a series of board walks connected to other paths and provides breathtaking views of the water, islands and water traffic. It connects to good quality walking paths through the Airlie Lagoon and beach front park, taking in fabulous tropical views - particularly at sunset and high tide
There are no steep sections, only gentle rises as it trails around the coastline from the Whitsunday Sailing Club to Cannonvale Beach.
We stopped for a light meal at the Fat Frog Cafe at Cannonvale before returning. Fat Frog serves breakfast and light lunches.
