My wife and I have just returned from our 'Baby Moon' in Airlie Beach.

We were looking for somewhere nice to stay that wasn't over the top price wise. We wanted a nice view, a great pool to relax by and close proximity to all that Airle has to offer (pregnant wives don't want to walk too far)

Water's Edge provided all of the above!

Jeff at reception went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed, the room was a good size and well fitted out with really comfy king sized bed, great couches to lay about on, sunny balcony, flat screen tellie and DVD player.

We cooked a couple of nights in the kitchenette and made lunches and breakfasts which kept our costs down. The other nights we wandered 100 metres to the main strip of restaurants and bars.

The pools were the perfect temperature for cooling off and the sunlounges are comfy enough to sleep on, so be careful!

We loved being able to see the water views from our shower too.

Much of Airlie's accomodation is set high on an extremely steep hill. Water's Edge is at very the base of this hill and let me tell you, i wouldn't have fancied walking an further up. (even without a pregnant wife!)

I would recommend Water's Edge to anyone. It was a great place to stay.

The Service was great, reception is extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in the penthouse, the view is awesome and the balinese theme seperates this hotel from all the others. It's in a great spot and the plunge pool is amazing. Would recommend Waters Edge to everyone.

Great location, close to everything, but far enough away that noise from the various bars in the main street are not a problem. Apartments beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Definately worth paying a little extra.

Having driven from the Sunshine Coast and stayed at some pretty remarkale places along the way, we were blown away by Airlie Beach - 27 degrees and beautiful views. This place is a real melting pot, we were served by waitstaff from New Zealand, South Africa and Finland! We loved Water's Edge, it is right in the heart of town and our apartment overlooked the pools and the beach. It was just a short walk to some great cafes and we dined one night at the restaurant in the complex, a bit chilly and the service or food wasn't fantastic, overpriced but certainly edible. The accommodation was luxurious and very reasonably priced. The staff were super-friendly as was everyone we met at Airlie Beach, arranging tours is absolutely no trouble. We will definitely return!

I did a lot of research on the best place to stay while visiting the Whitsunday Islands. Water's Edge Resort had the most positive comments and I'm glad we chose it for our 6 night stay. The resort was clean and well maintained. The decor was lovely. The new owner is involved in the daily operation and keeps a close eye on things. Kay at reception was especially helpful and knowledgeable. We stayed in a superior one bedroom on the third floor. The room was very spacious and the view was spectacular. We liked having the full kitchen on the nights we didn't feel like going out. The market is fairly close and a taxi back to the resort cost $10. The bus is approximately $3. The resort is a 2 minute walk to Airlie Beach. I'm so glad we did not choose some of the comparable resorts higher up on the hill. The hill is extremely steep and difficult to walk. Several people mentioned they were considering moving to the Water's Edge. It is at the bottom of the hill and still has tremendous views. The restaurant on site was excellent.

I initially emailled several hotels looking for rates/deals and I ended up choosing Waters Edge due to the amazingly friendly, helpful and quick responses from Jeff (proprietor) I am a big advocate of good service and this won me over.
Not only did this start me off with great expectations but it also made us feel very welcome. He then organised an Airport transfer for us which was easy and convenient from Prosepine.
The rooms were much larger than i would have imagined and for the 2 of us it felt like we were in the lap of luxury... absolutely loved it. We were given the top floor with the Ocean Veiws which was unbeleivable. The room had quite a large terrace which is always a big plus.
The reception staff were very hospitable and helpful, they helped to arrange a day tour out to the reef and White haven and no commissions were charged on top of the fares. They had to phone around a bit to find one for us and they were so pleasant and not put out at all.
The weather was briliant and we managed to enjoy stunning veiws from the pool also. The hotel is at the bottom of the hill (thank god for that) and the only hard climb was the drive way... it really wasnt too bad.
The restaurant was closed for our first night there due to a private function and the second night we dined out with friends so we never got the chance to visit.
I would highly recommend the resort, friendly, professional and brilliant location.
