After a bumpy flight from Queensland on the tails of Hurricane Debbie my wife and I were disappointed to check into the Dive Hotel. The entrance area and rooms are tired, shabby and musty. The carpets visibly looked worn and gave the impression of being dirty. The tiny ensuite also had visible signs of needing a refresh; dirty grout, stains on the shower floor. The kitchenette in the room was pathetic as was the old/cheap TV that took an age to change channels. The whole room felt dark and dingy with poor lighting. The reception is opposite the eating area amongst clutter. The friendly staff fitted the shabby (bordering on unprofessional) look. I attempted breakfast once, the continental breakfast is poor and a far cry from Europe. If we could have cancelled and gone elsewhere we would have. The internet pictures are miss leading. Having a dog in a hotel is not great. It is in a great location and has potential. Boutique hotel is not an excuse to lower standards, it felt more like a run down B&B. We would not recommend it or stay there again.
