We have only been there for morning tea, on several occasions. The coffe is fine, the banana bread was superior and the staff were friendly. Great location, overlooking Wallis Lake. You can even hire a boat if you want, from the ajoining boatshed.
We have read the negative comments made by others, so it is possible that the owner/manager has noted them and the problems experienced by others have been addressed.

The waitress was very polite, got our order wrong.
Coffee tasted like warm milk, we waited over 40mins plus for 3 eggs Benedict.
Won't be going back, such a shame in a beautiful location

Just had dinner there & aside from the retro menu & the poor service, I cannot go past the severly overpriced food! Lobster mornay was quite well priced, however the local oysters that we saw delivered from the local oyster farmers were more expensive than city prices! The prawn cocktail at $18 was highway robbery & if you don't eat seafood, you're pretty screwed. Great location though! Unfortunately we would not go back... Complete waste of money when there are other great choices.

We found out that this restaurant served a seafood platter for two as long as you gave them 24 hours notice, so we did, we called in Monday and booked for Wednesday night. We had eaten previously here other trips to forster and had always enjoyed, but this visit was the best...We have shared many seafood platters over the years in a lot of different towns and cities but this was the BEST EVER...So much seafood, even lobster.... The setting, the service just everything was perfect.. You would be a fool not to visit this gorgous restaurant, and an even bigger fool if you didn't order the platter.. Can't wait now for our next years visit, will be counting down the days..Thanks guys, it was Fabulous..

Fantastic location, gorgeous view.
Waitress was polite and the food which we received was pleasant enough. When we visited there was a major mix up with our order meaning two out of a table of six didn't receive a main course. We waited to see what the manager would do about it. She appeared to not even notice so we bought it to her attention and no apology was offered or solution reached. All we got it return was rudeness, accusation and an owner who said it was "not her problem" as someone else took the order, when I said if she owns the business she should make it her problem the answer was "butt out, it has nothing to do with you" She even went as far as to suggest it was our fault!
With many years of hospitality management experience myself I would suggest they employ a professional to sort of the front of house as they
would then have good product, currently they are way out of their depth.
In a seasonal town such as Forster cafes should look after the locals. Three out if six of our party live in the area. I have learnt that word of mouth is very important and if you have a great experience you may tell one person, If you have a negative experience you tell ten....
