A wonderful experience. Perfect location, great hostess, lovely rooms and delicious breakfasts - not much else you can ask for. Sue offered a ton of great information about the town and what to do around the Blue Mountains. I recommend this place for all.

Melba House is a classic villa with large, well furnished comfortable rooms situated in a quiet part of Katoomba. It is hosted by Sue, who is charming and for whom nothing is too much trouble. Her milk pancakes at breakfast and cakes and cookies are to die for, and her recommendations for local restaurants was very good. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed the experience.
There were some small areas that need improvement. The WiFi is via a free public service and only allows basic activity such as downloading and sending emails. Also watch out for the "man-trapped" gravelled entrance paths which inexplicably have a series of large pieces of masonry placed strategically to trip you up, especially at night!

Room Tip: We occupied the "Dame Edna" room which was spacious and comfortable. Have no reason to bel...

I spent last weekend at Melba House and am planning a return visit. Sue Handley runs a seriously good establishment. Gorgeous rooms, fresh cake and luscious breakfasts. Excellent.
Melba House is ideally situated for anyone wanting to explore the Blue Mountains, or wanting a rest. I ate my delicious breakfasts on the verandah which overlooked the beautiful garden.
Thank you!

Wonderfully furnished B&B with wonderful warm hosts. Izzy the cocker spaniel is a charming host! As is Sue. Location good and within walking distance to katoomba. Easy drive to Leura. We have stayed at a couple of B&Bs of late and Melba house is certainly very beautiful and tastefully decorated.
PS Izzy likes bacon so order it for breakfast.

I first stayed at Melba House just under 2 years ago and loved it. This time round and it didn't disappoint. Sue and Issy remain the kindest and most thoughtful of hosts; the rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and spacious; the breakfast was so delicious and filling I didn't need lunch despite walking all day and the location is perfect to explore Katomba and the beautiful Blue Mountains. Would recommend staying here very highly if you want to relax, be looked after and enjoy a touch of luxury!
