If you are after magnificient views of Jamison Valley as you eat - this is the place! The restaurant is small on the enclosed outdoor deck but opens up to outdoor dining in warmer weather. I was here for breakfast and there is a choice of a buffet or a la carte, but the options are not huge compared to many Sydney cafes, but these can all be checked out online. My choice for the smoked salmon was tasty and the huge pots of freshly brewed tea was thoroughly enjoyed. Note that bookings are recommended and if you are staying at Lilians then you'll have priority seating.

Seriously: bring your own down pillow from home. The pillows for these $300/night midweek ($450 weekend) room are bad, bad, bad. Shower flooded into the bathroom after less than 10 minutes shower time. And the prices for a veg risotto $45 dollars? No, it did not have whole truffles in it! $26 for a dessert? Give me a break.

Fois gras starter was 2 x 2 cm square of Fois Gras on a square of cold, ? Stale brioche, for $85 2 course menu that is a joke.

My main steak was tasty but again served with 1 baby carrot, just a rip off. I suppose you are paying for he view.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our night at Echo's Restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Our table was beside a window and the few minutes we had before sunset was very enjoyable.
The entree of Duck Foie Gras was delicious. My main was Guinea Fowl with mushroom duxelles was again well worth the visit. The wine list of mainly Australian wines although limited was adequate and reasonably prices when compared to other restaurants of the same calibre.
The real highlight was the staff who were attentive but discrete and very friendly. The cost was within the range I would expect for a restaurant of this quality and location.
Overall I highly recommend Echo's.
