nice hotel would stay again but I would suggest the hotel management look at the room cleaning for people staying more than one night
Our room was made up but dirty cups and glasses were left behind we had to wash them ourselves

over all a wonderful place the food was delightful will be back in the winter

thank you

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor

Surprised my wife with a romantic, weekend getaway at Echoes for her birthday. Tranquil location, stunning views, great service and a wonderful dining experience at Darley's Restaurant. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend getaway. Highly recommended.

Room 601 is opposite supply room and staff entrance. The banging of the door to the supply room and staff chat NEVER stopped, whether we were reading and relaxing in our room during the afternoon or from 6am in the morning. Also air conditioning units are right outside the room.

We had advised the hotel that we were celebrating a special wedding anniversary the night of our stay. The staff we very kind and a bottle of sparkling wine was delivered to our room on the house. As it was a Sunday night and the hotel was half occupied we were a little mystified as to why we had been allocated room 601.

We have stayed at Echoes on numerous occasions over the years, sometimes for business, sometimes as a romantic retreat and on one occasion, at a low point in our lives when we just needed the solace of the uplifting location. This special anniversary trip was probably the least enjoyable. Sadly, all the things that can make Echoes superb were cancelled out by room location. Enough said.............

Room Tip: If you are allocated Room 601, ask for a relocation!!

I am well-travelled (business and pleasure) and have rated this property at the highest level for what it is - a small property sitting in a picturesque location. This hotel makes the most of both with some of the most breathtaking views and oustanding, personal service. Restaurant is expensive (minimum 2 courses) but so is everything else in this area. I stayed for 4 nights (Mon - Fri) for work and found it to have everything I needed. Free internet, outdoor furniture on my private balcony, efficient and flexible staff and free access to the gym, sauna, pool and spa next door (Lillianfels) which was appreciated. I recommend rooms with a full view of the Jamison Valley. I will return.

We stayed here for a Saturday night in November. It's a beautiful hotel with what must be one of the greatest locations for uninterrupted views over the Jamison valley in the mountains (when the fog hasn't rolled in). We had a room on the lower floor, and the layout of the room means that you didn't have a view from the bed unfortunately. Though the view from our small patio area was sensational. Next time however I would request a room on the entrance level for the balcony, and hopefully a view out the window from the bed.
Our dinner in the restaurant, while on the expensive side, was without fault. The service and the food were both great. We particularly enjoyed the atmosphere listening to the piano player while enjoying after dinner drinks in the bar area. This was a highlight.
However the breakfast the next morning (same restaurant) was appalling. I really hope that it was just a one-off under staffing issue, but the tables were not being cleaned which forced guests to use tables in the area of the restaurant without a view. The one wait-staff was quite incompetent, and many tables around us missed out on parts of their orders, or orders were incorrect. There were at least 3 tables around us commenting loudly about the poor service that morning. Just not what I would expect from a high end restaurant/hotel. Like I said though hopefully this was just a one-off.
We didn't use the spa/pool facilities across the road at Lilianfels, but walked around and it looked nice.
Sure there are cheaper hotels in the mountains, but the views from this hotel make the price you pay worth it. Though, mother nature prevented us from seeing the spectacular view the second day thanks to thick fog - it is worth consulting the weather forecast if you are booking close to your travel date.

Room Tip: A room on the entrance level (not lower level) provides a balcony. Rooms on lower levels have patio...
