“Good place to visit for information”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

This is a great place to visit for information but there is only ticket parking and the area is a bit of a tourist trap. Unfortunate as the view to the valley from this location is amazing. I grew up visiting this place and never passing without stopping to a gaze at the valley. But with ticket parking and the tourist buses the place has lost its interest.

“a little gem”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

What a marvelous place to spend a cold winter weekend afternoon.
Good coffee from the café, with some great soup and other light meal options. Some very intriguing and eclectic exhibitions on offer.
And what a seriously cool library!
A view to die for, through a huge window space at the valley end of he building, just a great place to curl up on the comfy seats, read away as the frigid wind whistles by outside.
Or free wifi!!

Oh yes there is shopping centre underneath, but that's largely irrelevant to the cultural and relaxation opportunities that Blue Mountains Council has laid on upstairs

I'm sure the local clientele will not thank me for making this known. As a visitor, I was very impressed and we wil definitely go there again

“Well-managed venue”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

The Cultural Centre has proved to be an excellent addition to Katoomba. The building is architecturally interesting with a great view of the local area & nearby mountains. The exhibitions in the lovely gallery space feature local artists and are constantly changing, the permanent exhibition on the history & attractions of the World Heritage Area is very special & the meeting room is well-used. Add to this a good coffee shop & gift shop & it makes having annual membership very worthwhile.

“what an eye opener”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

I had read about this place in the local paper but never bothered to look..Yesterday a friend took me...I should have gone before..What a lovely place..There,s a new shopping centre below and the library also below the centre..The library is magnificant with large windows that look over the mountains..Plenty of places to sit and relax..Then upstairs to the centre. This has exhibition halls for a changing array of displays..Theres a lovely cafe ,clean toilets and the best viewing platform that looks with a 180 degree view of katoomba and the escarpments..I've lived in the mountains for over 20 years and was gobsmacked at this place...go! thats all I can say
