Echo Point is a 'must do' when you visit the Blue Mountains, no question. The views from the lookouts into and across the Jamieson valley are just magnificent, even in inclement weather. However, be prepared for hordes of tourists and to pay through the nose for parking. Not like the old days, when you could just drive up and virtually park on the edge of the escarpment. There are also some excellent walks (with steep stairs) taking you down into the valley and to the Three Sisters. And look out for the magnificent King Parrots (especially near the shop).

It's a very busy place (add and extra "very" in there for when the tour buses pull in) but definitely something you need to do if you're in Katoomba for the first time.
Out, past the jostling bodies trying to get the best spot for that mandatory holiday selfie, over the railings lay hundreds up hundreds of hectares of unspoiled natural beauty. There are helpful signs around that tell you exactly what you're looking at as well.

The view from Echo Point is spectacular by day with some of the best views in Australia. Plenty of space even with crowds of tourists.

Perfect winters day provided a magic view into the valley and surrounding mountains. Pity the wind was so cold.
