The hotel has a charming exterior and lovely common rooms that express the building past. The deluxe king room we stayed in was adequate with a reasonably comfortable bed, good amount of room and good shower in a smallish bathroom. The hotel, however, is starting to look tired and could do with freshen up. There was peeling paint in the bathroom and the carpets were looking a little soiled. The TV had very poor reception on the local channels and there was no pay TV on the menu. There was a sheer curtain missing from one of the windows which meant that you had to leave the drapes closed for privacy.
In the morning when we went to make a cup of tea there was only one tea bag and no milk in the fridge which no disaster but shows a lack of attention to detail.
Overall if I could give the hotel 2 and a half stars I would but I will give 3 because of the very friendly and helpful staff.More
