“This B & B is the best!”
Reviewed 17 October 2009

We recently spent a week at this wonderful B & B, having made the booking on the strength of past tripadvisor reviews and we were delighted to find it exceeded our expectations. What a fantastic find! If you're travelling to the Blue Mountains you'd be mad to pass this one by. Better than a hotel, Peter keeps this very well maintained B & B in top condition and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him and his great staff staff - they aim to please and they do this with a friendliness that is often missing in larger hotels. Peter has thought of everything including extensive information booklets on what to do in the area which you can borrow during your stay. Highlights of our trip included the sumptuous home cooked breakfast every morning served by Peter's lovely mum, doing the National Pass walk, relaxing in the generous spa in our room after a long day walking, and falling into bed each night in the beautifully decorated and comfortable room. Located halfway between Katoomba shops and Echo Point, Lurline House is the ideal place to experience the beauty and magic of the Blue Mountains. We will definitely be back!

There isn't much more that can be said about Lurline House that hasn't already been written in the reviews here. This B&B is superb and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an extremely comfortable and memorable time away.

My parents and I stayed for two nights this September. I would say its an ideal place for a group like ours. While the weather let us down pretty badly, Lurline House did not.

Here are a few positives, which are worth sharing with you:
Personal reception on arrival with cakes and tea/coffee
Beautiful property - stunning bedrooms with spa baths, in-room TVs with DVD player (and full DVD library available)
Everything was clean and in top condition
Breakfast of champions, with friendly and attentive serving staff
Plenty of information available on what to do and how best to do it (nothing was ever to much trouble)
Good location (5 mins to Echo Point/Scenic World, close to Katoomba centre and easy to get out to all surrounding areas).

Finally, it was excellent value for money. I really couldn't believe the cost for our stay. I thought Peter must have added it up wrong.

The only thing worth calling out is that because of the house being built of wood, the walls between rooms aren't the most soundproof. It wasn't a problem for us at all, but if you had a noisy neighbour (or you're noisy yourself), it might have been.

Final comment - exceeded our expectations in everyway.

Stayed here for two nights at the end of September. Peter was a fantastic host -- very happy to give us tips about walks nearby. The breakfast is delicious: eggs cooked in front of you to your liking...plus the usual yummy yogurts, fruits and cereals. Our Queen Spa room was gorgeous: lovely and warm on a chilly night. Bed was more comfy than some of the 5 star hotels we'd been staying in in Sydney!

Really nice old house , tastefully decorated in period style.
A touch of class in the whole setting.
Peter and staff do a really tasty cooked breakfast and the cofee and cake welcome was also greatly appreciated.
The location is very handy to Three Sisters/Echo point and just a 10 min walk to the town centre.
This would be one of the best B&B experiances we have had

Excellent stay.

Complimentary afternoon tea with cakes, complimentary port, relaxing ambience, good breakfasts, informative and helpful hosts, very comfortable rooms and beds, easy walking distance to 3 sisters and the town centre.

Very enjoyable and we were sad to leave!

Based purely on the excellent reviews people had written on Trip adviser about Lurline House we booked the nights of the 11th / 12th Aug. Lets just say that the 5* rating that this accommodation has earnt is totally worthy. The place is immaculate, beautifully decorated and has a very homely feel. The full English breakfast is excellent or there's a lighter continental choice if required. Location wise, just a 10 minute walk to the viewing plateform for the 3 Sisters rock formation its best to park at the guest house and walk down as there is a parking charge at the viewing plateform. Each room has a DVD player with films available from a library. We would definately recommend Lurline House to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat, beautifully styled accommodation.
