Wowee! Drove past this place a few times and then finally went there for dinner. Wonderful, French atmos and lovely French waitress. I had the steak with bernaise sauce and it was "tres magnifique"! Desserts were also top class. This one's a winner. "Bon appetite!"

We visited The Rooster with friends for the girls birthday dinner. There was once again lovely background live music. We brought a couple of bottles of bubbly with us and there was no problem in keeping them cool or serving them $9 corkage. Most of the party had escargot, unfortunately all agreed that they were quite bland. I had the three cheese souffle which did not disapoint. I had the duck which was as good as I have had anywhere, cooked to perfection and with a fine sauce and accompaniments. One of our party had the beef borguignon which was described as underwhelming, beef cooked well but lacking backbone. Cheese platter was top notch and all of the desserts were raved about. It was a Saturday night and very busy however if anything let it down it was wait staff attentiveness! All in all a great atmosphere and quality meals. We will be back.

After so many recommendations from friends we visited here for dinner. For entree had snails and soufflé both very plain. Snails tiny in size. For mains we had beef bourg and lamb cutlets - portions tiny especially the lamb. Beef flavoursome but average. Desert lemon meringue tart which was very sweet and crepe suzette terrible as the sauce poured over it tasted like straight tequila. Service slow with only two waitstaff, food very mediocre not with the price and little ambience.

Saturday night at The Rooster is fun and very French! -We enjoyed fabulous cocktails in the bar before sitting down in the restaurant - the restaurant is beautifully furnished - amazing art deco light fittings, mirrors, pictures etc and friendly young French waiters. There is French music playing in the background - & you do feel like you could be somewhere in France. We enjoyed escargots, freshly baked baguettes (the bread is amazing!) barramundi & Eye Fillet ,
crepe suzette & dessert of the day - which was pear & chocolate delishiousness. The coffee here is also very very good!
Really enjoyed our evening - We'll be back!.
